"Why Clinton isn't dead"
The scope of Hillary Clinton's latest resurrection can be appreciated only in light of the elaborate preparations that had been made for her expeditious burial. That she is very much alive can be attributed to her true grit but also to the revelation that Barack Obama is not a miraculously perfect candidate after all.

Assuming that Clinton would at best eke out a victory in Ohio on Tuesday to end her long losing streak, prominent Democrats were organizing a major private intervention. A posse of party leaders would plead with her to end her campaign and recognize Obama as the Democratic standard-bearer. To buttress this argument, several elite unelected superdelegates (including previous Clinton supporters) were ready to come out for Obama. Those plans went on hold Tuesday night.

I know, I know - Robert Novak - but still a sensible study.

PS: There is a federal corruption trial starting today of Obama's long time good buddy.

Obama Scant on Details the Day of Rezko Trial
March 03, 2008 7:24 PM
snip
"You may still have questions, which I’m happy to answer, but I don’t think it’s fair to suggest somehow that we’ve been trying to hide the ball on this."

Then the specific questions came. When asked twice about fundraisers, with details, who was there and how many, Obama did not answer.

snip

After about ten questions in a fifteen minute press avail. As he walked away from the podium a slew of questions were barreled at him. He said he was late and had already taken numerous questions.

But a slew of specific questions yielded few new answers from the Senator, just one day before the March 4th primaries, although he claimed, "I’ve been very open that I called it a boneheaded move."

Maybe the prosecutor will get this out of Rezko in the trial room. Why should I provide a list? I'd rather you provide some explanation why Obama continually has memory lapses and refuses to answer questions about his ties with Rezko.

http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog/archives/2008/03/7462_clintonites_cla.html

snipOn this morning's conference call with reporters, as voters in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont were hitting the polls, top Clinton aides hammered these points repeatedly, noting they were pleased that reporters covering Obama were beginning to ask him about these matters. Obama has "credibility questions," asserted Phil Singer, who handles opposition research for the Clinton campaign. Howard Wolfson, the communications director, made much of the fact that the Obama campaign had sent an aide to take notes at the trial of Rezko, a developer indicted on corruption charges. His trial began yesterday. The aide's presence "belies the fact," Wolfson maintained, that Obama has downplayed his relationship with Rezko, who helped raised about $150,000 for Obama and who bought a strip of property next to Obama's home. snip

Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 12:03 PM by barb162
And that includes Obama telling us about his long term relationship with Rezko. Why does Obama consistently refuse to answer questions about this matter?

As to tax returns, I'd give all candidates, McCain and Nader included, until 4/15/08 to submit the 2007 returns since any citizen in this country can file up to that date.

14. That's good news for Obama if he was so close to having Hillary declared dead ...
her wins weren't THAT big or unexpected. A lot of polls had Hillary up by 10 in Ohio and she only won by 3 in Texas, with some help from Republican mischief. And she was up by 20 in both polls just 3 weeks ago. So why should the results be seen as some kind of game changer?

20. IMO HRC's hopes rest on no do-overs in FL (net 38 delegates and 288,000 popular
votes) and MI (Soviet stlye 328,000-vote "landslide" and most of the 128 delegates).

On MSNBC this am, Howard Dean said that unless there were re-votes in MI and FL, a Clintonite-dominates Convention Rules Committee would decide whether or not to seat those delegates and count those spurious popular votes for HRC.

The 616,000-vote HRC edge in FL and MI already would wipe out Obama's hard-won 570,000-vote margin in LEGITIMATE, FAIR, and DEMOCRATIC primaries and caucuses, and a net of 100 or so MI and FL delegates would put Clintonite Superdelegates in the driver's seat (see the spreadsheet and CNN links at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4918049 ).

Should inertia prevail in MI and FL, and should Clinton prevail in seating decisions at the Denver Convention, IMO the world will react as it did to the Bush V Gore USSC decision. All hell will break loose, and the party will be destroyed just as it was in 1968.

IMO HRC wouldn't mind a bit if McCain won in the fall because of the disunity she sowed in the Democratic Party. She'd just be set up for another Presidential bid in 2012! She's just that absolutely ruthless.

39. sorry but all I get from this article is
"Such a showdown would reveal the consequences of eight years of Democratic procedural decisions that made no sense"

FUCK NOVAK and what he thinks of OUR Primary. And FUCK the msm that will run with the above sentiment NO MATTER WHO We nominate;'Democrats are ineffective dumbasse's'.That sentiment will be ten fold if we offer up an unqualified novice like Barack Obama.

So to hell with Obama if he can't take Hillary's heat.We need a fighter,a Demcoratic Warrior.Hillary is nothing if not that.

I want to win the WhiteHouse back.HILLARY can do that for us.I'm sicka seeing Barack pussyfoot around, smiling and being his usual charming self while actually saying and doing NOTHING.Hillary brought it,Hillary Won.

She will do the same to McLAME and we will win back the WhiteHouse.Novak can take his death wish for Hillary and stuff it up his fat ass.
