Why would a voter punish a specific candidate for the mess that became of their primary
The Michigan and Florida fiascos have nothing to do with the candidates. It is all because of a disagreement between the state legislators and the DNC. I would think that any voter smart enough to find a vote booth on primary day is smart enough to know what the problem is.

So, why would a voter suddenly punish either candidate for this? I have never understood the "You need to seat the delegates because you need Florida to win" arguments. Any voter aware enough to understand that their vote did not count is probably smart enough to understand why. And - I would hope - that they understood that their vote in the general would count.

I guess my problem is that the "Voter's revenge" scenario paints Florida Democrats as complete zealots who also happen to be very simple-minded.

So, take me through the thought-process of a Florida voter who voted in the primary but will not vote in the general.

1. I don't understand that either. Who's suddenly going to change
their political orientation or take revenge because of a party squabble? There are many of us who NEVER get to vote meaningfully in primaries, in the later states--most candidates have dropped out, or the race is decided. There's no revenge when that happens, why should this be any different?

3. Yeah, isn't it funny how nobody worried about late date primary states being "disenfranchised"?
What is so special about MI and FL all of a sudden? This is the first time in decades that any states besides the Jan. primary ones have mattered.

2. Hell if I know. This is a state where the majority of people don't want evolution taught in school.
Having lived there a few times, I can tell you that's one state I will never figure out.

4. Revenge
That whole "voter's revenge" scenario is a fantasy concocted by people who want the votes in those states re-done, for their own reasons. The sad truth is, most American's aren't poltically aware enough to even think the whole thing through to that degree.
