Has anyone seen a realistic scenario whereby Clinton can win?
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 02:50 PM by Onlooker
Let's say the Democrats agree to seat Florida and Michigan as is. My understanding is that even if Florida and Michigan were seated as is, she would only pick up around 70 delegates, but she needs 140. I don't see how she can do that barring some sort of major scandal for Obama, and there aren't that many superdelegates who are going to go against the will of the electorate. The ones who were prepared to do that lined up behind Clinton or Obama a long time ago.

I'd be honestly curious to know if there's a realistic scenario whereby Clinton could win. I think she's staying in now only because she won the other day. I think she's ready to pull out, but needs a good excuse to appease her backers.

2. There isn't a single one.
That's the problem.

3. Whoever can get to 2024 and a half of a person will get the nom. It's really
quite simple. 2024.5 = WIN
< 2024.5 = NO WIN
I am not a math major btw.

4. Yes, continue to smear Obama so the super-delegates turn to her.
The Clinton campaign can't win by having the most delegates straight from the primaries but they can gain enough super-delegates if they make Obama appear to be not a viable candidate for the GE. They have 6 weeks to continue the mudslinging. Then, If Clinton wins PA, it's another big state win, regardless of Obama's delegate lead.

5. No, but she's already shown she's unwilling to set aside her personal ambitions for her people
So let her have the damn thing, if the pouting little brat refuses to let the front runner be the nom.
Whatever consolidates us now to go up against McBush. If her ego is so huge she can't set it aside for
the party, well, I'd rather have a Democratic narcissist in there than a GOP sociopath.

7. By the time we hit PA, I think Obama's lead in Total delegates will be 140.
So I dont know what she can do.

8. Yes--she utterly trashes Obama, makes his poll numbers against
McCain go down, casts doubt on his electability, and then the SD's get nervous and flee to her. It might happen, too.

9. We don't need no stinkin' primary
so let's just cut it short and tell those who haven't voted yet that their votes don't matter now but we will graciously allow them to get out in November weather and vote in the GE anyway. :eyes: Yeah. Right.
