How was primary turnout (didn't Iowa and New Hampshire have high turnout)?

I heard some people talking about how turnout was quite low during the primaries, but didn't Iowa and New Hampshire recieve record turnout? I thought they were quite high. Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't the turnout dip dramatically once it seemed unlikely that Kerry would be beaten?

Maybe someone can clarify this for me.

i heard utah had a higher than expected turnout also. they actually ran out of ballots and had to get some more.
