What if Florida and Michigan delegates are seated at the convention and Hillary wins?

####Sorry for shoving 2 questions in 1 post but the 3 post rule is in play.

I would think that it sucks for democracy and the Democratic Party and th country. I would vote for her.

John Dubya McSame would be the President in 2009.

15. You know what I think?
I think there would be a coupla days of "Gadzooks! And Damn it all to hells!!!" and then I think we'd all just roll over and play dead. Really, we'd go ahead and vote for HC because- frankly by the time Nov. rolls around, my God we're going to be completely mind-numbingly bored out of our skulls don't you think..? I mean- it all started way to early. We'll all vote for the Hill if we have to.... When we consider the McPAIN option- we will quickly learn to love her!

18. hard to imagine right now but I accept that prediction as a possibility
I think it would be very, very bad for the party, though, to reward her for that and her vote on the IWR, etc. I don't think there is any opposition to the notion that Obama is what drives the massive turn-out and that many people who may have supported the Dem candidate will just stay home if HRC is offered as the nominee. Hopefully we won't have to test that theory.

6. If the superdelegates vote the opposite of the elected delegates
and virtually nullify the votes of the people, I'm going off to look for the Independent Underground. Michigan and Florida won't be seated based on the contests they already had and if they hold new ones, Obama will pick up a good chunk of delegates and will still be ahead.

7. Sit at home and play WII in November
with all of my other Dem friends who also won't be voting for her.

If she wins "fairly".. ie, re-do in MI & FL and wins that way, or figures out a way to win by 70% in every one of the next 12 contests in order to overcome Obama's delegate lead.. then i'll hold my nose & vote.

If she wins it the Clintonian way.. ie cheating, stealing, backroom dealing.. then I won't vote for her. Yup.. i'm throwing away SCOTUS nominees, i'm threatening a good health care program, but i'm also standing up for VALUES and MORALITY in this friggin country and in politics.. and I actually think at this point that is more important.

How the HELL do we say we're any better then the creepy republicans if we allow this kind of shit to happen within our own party? Well, I personally won't vote for it.

She wins fair & square - I vote. She wins by cheating, I don't.

If she can't win it fair, but has to resort to dirty tactics like she wants, then I don't vote. If she wins fair, then like you, I hold my nose, and vote!

Right now I have lost all respect for her. If she stops this right wing crap, and gets back to the issues, and how she will change things instead of attacking Obama to keep the heat off her, then I may change my mind, but if not, she doesn't belong in the whitehouse anymore than McCain!

The Supers are all ready breaking for Obama. They're not going to do it in bulk. Slowly,
1-3 each day are breaking for Obama. It's happening.

Also, Fla and MI won't be seated 'as is.' There's no way. There might be a re-vote---and that
is fine.

11. It depends on how she wins.
I'm an Obama supporter, but even now -- despite her behavior these past two weeks -- I'm willing to vote for Clinton in November if she wins the nomination fair and square. By that I mean the DNC agrees to re-votes in Michigan and Florida, she wins those, and that gives her the pledged delegate lead. It's not a likely scenario, but it's still possible.

But if she wins by breaking the rules -- i.e., getting Michigan and Florida seated according to the January votes -- or by convincing party insiders to give it to her despite the pledged delegate totals, then I really wouldn't be able to bring myself to vote for her. I'm a loyal Democrat, but that would just be too much. I'd leave that part of the ballot blank.

38. Not A Claim, But A Fact.
Furthermore, if the SD's decided such a thing, it would undoubtedly in my opinion be for the right reasons, so I trust that. But I think part of any deal like that would involve Obama also being the VP, so in the end we'd end up with a dream ticket and guaranteed victory in November. And yeah, I'd find that to be absolutely exciting!

I will then move to a country that has a democracy where the voters choose their representatives and feel sorry for all of the wonderful people that had to stay in this fake democracy and pretend that they matter.

If the FL MI delegates choose it is the same thing. If they redo the votes and the actual people (pledged delegates) choose Hillary, I'll shut up and stay home. Then in four years, I'll work my ass of (again) trying to get a good candidate in office instead of the corporate candidate.

62. That seems likely to me.
Think of the Democratic Party as a poorly run business in a competitive market. The Super-delegates are the employees of the company. That is, they are those folks who work full time and get paid (either $$$ or in power). They have managed to get themselves a sweet contract where they have a big say on the board of directors. This is a wonderful hedge against the sort of change that will lose them their positions. They take care of a customer when that customer is in their face, but largely think of the company as working for their benefit. In the corporate world, this is an entitlement culture. It is a recipe for decline and mediocrity. If you don’t think it dominates today’s Democratic Party just suggest term limits or real reform measures to your local platform committee. Just look at how our flaccid Congress spends it’s time.

The Super-delegates will support Hillary because she is perceived as the candidate of keeping them on the gravy train. The new constituency drawn by Barrack will be squandered to keep business-as-usual. This is nothing new. This is why the party whose espoused ideals are representative of the vast majority of Americans could only win three presidential elections in the last 40 years. Hillary will get the nomination from the super-delegates and get my reluctant vote. McCain will win. The most political and corrupt DOJ in history has been working on her files for eight years, folks. I would not be surprised if she were indicted before November.

I won’t be taking my ball and going home, because third parties are not viable in this country. (If the likes of Dennis and Howard were to give it a try, I’d go along for the ride, though). The only way to have a party that represents what I think is the American ideal, is to fire the hacks, one by one, in local elections. This will take years, but it is the good fight. At least we will have President McCain to remind us why it is a necessity and we will have their stand at the 08 convention to identify them.
