Kick Hillary Out of the Party
Hillary Clinton has said that McCain "certainly" has the credentials to be commander-in-chief, that she herself "believes" that she does, but that Barack Obama has not proven that he has such credentials.

It's a sad state of affairs when one Democrat praises the Republican nominee over her fellow Democrat. What this looks like to me is this: Hillary doesn't want a Democrat to win unless it's her. She didn't want John Kerry to win in 2004. She won't want Obama to win in 2008. She wants Republicans to keep winning until the stars align for her presidency. It remains to be seen what lows this despicable politician will stoop to in order to make sure this happens.

Give her health care and say now get it passed and then come back and we will listen to you. Accomplish something on your own without Bill.

2. This is one of the most ridiculous posts I have ever read on GD.
I will say it again. Everyone knows that John McCain is a war hero.Everyone knows that he has experience.Everyone knows he is 72 years old.Hillary acknowledging this does nothing.Using your argument we should kick Obama out for praising Republicans and wanting to"reach across the aisle" as he so fervently advocates.John McCain's experience will be an issue, and guess what, the GOP already "knew" about it.

4. Her quote can be used in a GOP attack ad
Secondly, the "threshold" for who is capable of being commander-in-chief is subjective. The argument can be made (and is made) that McCain is not trustworthy on the issue of national security since he is responsible for the Iraq blunder. Should Obama win the nomination, Hillary will be expected to agree with the Democratic Party platform, which will imply this.

is that she's so stupid she's hurting her own chnaces should she, by hook or CROOK, get the nomination. While she's trying to hurt Obama, she's giving McCain ammo against her because he will take her own words about experience and readiness to CiC and point out that not only does he have more but also that his is bona fide and really His. NOT derived from being someone's spouse.

A powerful campaign tool: her image, her voice, her words for McCain!

46. Obama has given the repukes THE talking point for decades & they won't forget it.
It will be used over & over for years to come.

One of the frontrunners for the presidency of the Democratic Party said this and it was heard & seen around the world.

Reagan tapped into what the people wanted.

"I don't want to present myself as some sort of singular figure. I think part of what is different is the times. I do think that, for example, the 1980 election was different. I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. They felt like with all the excesses of the 60s and the 70s and government had grown and grown but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating. I think he tapped into what people were already feeling. Which is we want clarity, we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing." - Obama

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/16/obama-compares-himself-to_n_81835.html

Word for word on the tape.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaoYD7iZG9w

In trying to build himself up or some kind of comparison to Ronald Reagan regarding change and moving away from the 60's & 70's, he also declared that *Bill Clinton, could not or did not do what Ronald Reagan did.

(*our only 2 term DEM president since FDR, about 60 years)

I've seen this explained away many times as not being what it looks like it is or people saying they didn't see any comparisons being made. It's not what "we" think. It's what the Repukes make of it and it's enough to damn democratic candidates for years in favor of a Reagan-like Replacement. I can already hear it, a Democratic presidential hopeful said it as he was dissing one of our best, Reagan must have been the greatest president ever. Just what we need again to get this country on track.
Watch for it. The Dem nominee will get hit with it from now on.

This statement during this presidential campaign by Obama towers over anything & everything HRC has said.

82. Your reasoning is WRONG (sorry, but it is)
Obama did not say that Reagan was a good president--only that he motivated a generation into thinking in a different fashion. Did Bill get people thinking in a wholly different way? NO. This is not a question of who had better policies, who did more, who moved the country in a better direction--it is ONLY about how Reagan was able to shift the country's focus. (I was and remain avidly anti-Reagan, BTW).

This statement of Obama's reflects, more than anything, his role as UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR, not politician. This is an objective analysis or "reading" of the times, not an endorsement.

99. I whole heartedly disagree...
...Obama is a man that can look at another person, not as a democrat or republican, but as a person.

This is the whole point behind trying to change things in Washington. For too long it's been fight fight fight. For too long it's been everybody at each others throats. Almost never do you hear anything about compromise, and when you do the people involved are ridiculed as traitors to their parties and ideals.

Well, you can't get your way all the time. Compromise is the only way to progress when ~50% disagree with each other on EVERYTHING. Regardless of what you might think, there are people who aren't in the left or right wing, but somewhere in the middle...like me.

If you can't look at another man, and see some of the good that they did, or at least find some way to complement them whether you agree with their stand or not, then NOTHING CAN EVER GET ACCOMPLISHED AND CHANGE CAN'T HAPPEN.

Like it or not, Obama is right. Reagan did bring his party, and a lot of America together based on tapping into general feelings of the public that already existed. What he did during his presidency is regardless when considering this.

The point he was making is that there is a general feeling in the public. He realizes that, and has quite obviously tapped into it.

Just because you don't like what he said, doesn't mean it isn't true.

Sorry, but giving the opposition ammunition in the most crucial election ever. THAT is just downright unforgivable.

68. I have gone from not wanting HRC because she was unelectable to
hating her as much as Lieberman. She is a f****** traitor!!!!! Anyone here that defends her comments is a traitor to the Democratic party as well.

Some cults have more tolerance for divergent views than Obamanation.

92. Wouldn't she have to be a member of the party first?
Her behavior clearly illustrates that she is not Pro-Democrat but rather, Pro-Hillary and to hell with anyone and anything else. Power at all costs-even our party and the office of the presidency if she can't have it. She's no Democrat. She's a tratior to our party and to this nation. Never trust a former Republican--and that is exactly what she is proving to be. McCain my ass.

100. Why do you stoop to spreading such lies?
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 05:20 PM by Seabiscuit
When she was talking about McCain she did NOT say that "Barack Obama has not proven that he has such credentials." She was only referencing herself and McCain.

Paranoia coupled with meanness of spirit coupled with dishonesty.

Shame on you and all of you who spread such lies about either candidate.

101. If, after losing the Democratic nomination, she runs in GE as an Independent, I'll agree with you.
At this point, as disgusting and MONSTROUS as her praise that John Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran McCain "certainly" has passed the CIC threshold is, it's too early to kick her out of the Party. But way past time she dropped out of the primaries.
