Her opening statement sounds like something some young Republican wrote for a sophomore Political Sci class.

1. She's already changed her story---Again |
|
she's not acting stupid about Clinton admin briefings...
She's gonna argue that they didn't miss a step from the Clinton administration policies.

2. And Hamilton's opening remarks already sound like excuses/apologies for |
|
the NSC adviser's difficult task.
Note the tremulousness creeping into her voice, even if it's a PREPARED speech.

4. On MSNBC I cannot believe what I thought I heard |
|
Before Rice came down, I thought tweety and others implying because we were at war this commission better not ask hard questions. My impression was that it would almost be anti-american if that were to happen with all the problems in Iraq

6. She gave herself credit for taking the "unusual" step of |
|
retaining Clarke and others from the Clinton administration, I guess as an illustration of how high a priority the * admin. placed on addressing terrorism.
Excuse me, but if Clarke has served under 3 Repub. Presidents AND Clinton, in exactly what way is his continuation unusual? Sounds like standard practice to me.
I couldn't listen any more after that.

7. what's amazing is that this is said or implied by people who lived through |
|
the Vietnam era. Didn't they learn then that failure to raise hard questions and act swiftly and appropriately on the answers is the worst course the country could possibly follow?
