If the media senses that Bush is "done," will they turn to Kerry? |
|
As we all know, the media (particularly television) thinks exclusively about ratings. As far as I'm concerned, it's all they care about.
If it becomes apparent that Bush doesn't have a chance of winning, and that Kerry is a shoo-in, will the media "endorse" him? I'm not talking about Limbaugh, Fox News, or Hannity - those people will have a following regardless of who's winning. But the others live and die by the ratings.

1. I think it's possible for some outlets |
|
I think NBC, owned by GE, is hopeless. But the others might come around.

2. The question in my opinion is |
|
What media, the major media sources are all owned by the same people they make sure we eat sleep and breath the same thing. Have you ever tried to watch Nbc, Abc and Cbs evening news? It is amazing how they all show the same story lines. Then you flip to CNN and it is more the same.
I think places like WSJ, LA times and NY times will keep it real but the rest who knows. The NBC/GE is a great point and one that few see as a connection.

4. Forget the WSJ - they are a right wing tool. |
|
Remember that the Bush Criminal Empire began on Wall Street, and that Harry Truman accurately described the then-newborn CIA as a "tool of Wall Street bankers". They'll kiss Bush ass until the day a merciful God wipes all those sorry shitheads from existence.

I don't know if I totally agree with you there. They have been putting in some pretty critical articles of late. They were leaning left on an article on ASScroft, also they have been right there on the Medicare thing...so you have a point however lately I don't see the Bush buddying you speak of.

The "tipping point" will be when we see Judy Woodruff pandering to us. Then we know we've got it in the bag. ;)

7. Never. The media is in bed with Bush to the end. |
|
The only time you may see tough media against Bush is if Kerry beats him. Then and only then will the media feel safe to question anything Bush did in his crooked administration.

10. The right wing media will attack Kerry even after Bush loses the election! |
|
Don't ever think that the right wing mainstream media is going to be on our side - they won't be.

11. Look for Bush and the media to start playing up kerry's war support. |
|
As the war continues to go south, a predictable tactic to neutralize the damage will be to point out that kerrry supported the war. Kerry can try to spin his way out of it, but all they have to do is keep repeating that kerry voted yes on the war; that's the main reason why kerry can't come down too hard with any criticism of the way the war is going.

WSJ is one of the few conservative papers that you can count on for journalistic integrity.
Most are shit of course.
