Pennsylvanians: What kind of a chance does Toomey have?
Do you think he has a chance to unseat Spectre in the primary? (By the way, what day is your primary?) If so, do you think the Dem. nominee has a good shot at beating Toomey?

1. I wouldn't risk it.

We do not need a Right wing culture-war frenzy if we hope to win PA this fall.

6. Be careful what you wish for
It was thought that Reagan was to conservative to win a national election.

2. Our primary is April 27th
And a friend said she'd heard a poll a few days ago which had Specter leading Toomey by about 15 points.

Though I am an Ohioan I get TV out of Erie PA. Toomey is either writing of the Erie area or he is being massively outspent. I have seen several Specter commercials, and most of them have been very well done. I haven't seen a single Toomey commercial. I haven't seen any polls for quite some time but the last one was showed a comfortable Specter lead.

8. Toomey is running attack ads calling Specter ...
you got it ... a LIBERAL. Ohhh Noooo!!! Toomey is a nut case like Santorum and thankfully doesn't have a chance. Specter is not too bad but PA absolutely has to get rid of Santorum! Santorum typifies everything that is rotten and corrupt with the repuglican party.

11. Toomey will lose to Spector by more than 10, and the Dem will lose by more
Spector is too well thought of here.

14. I don't think people personally care about Specter, just his seniority
He's chair of some lesser committee right now and whenever Crotch decides to retire, he'll become head Republican/Chair on the Judiciary committee.

12. Lots of Looney signs here
in the SW central PA true believer belt. * is campaigning at a fund raiser (where else) for Specter next week in Pittsburgh. With friends (and endorsers) like Sanatorium and *, Specter will win.

13. I'm currently reading the New Yorker article on this race...
I noticed something odd. Though Toomey is challenging Specter from the right, he seemed to be focusing on fiscal policy. Conservative fiscal policy is exactly what the Bush administration does not have; they like to spend freely, as (it seems) does Specter. So I wonder if Toomey wouldn't criticize the Bush administration for its irresponsible spending from the right while we do it from the left?

15. Specter's Ads
Specter has put out quite a hard hitting attack ad, with the father of a chronically ill child saying that Toomey never returned his phone calls, and Specter cut through the red tape to get things done.
