Kerryfans - Can We ALL E-Mail the campaign to get him to Condemn FALLUJAH?
I seriously think this is something we need to do. Admittedly, if we look at this nonpartisanly and objectively, I can see why Kerry wants to be cautious. Sometimes, in warfare, it is necessary to attack. However, Fallujah looks like its crossing a line and isn't going to help our cause or anybody's cause. We've just increased hatred towards us ten-fold.

I really want Kerry to go out there and strongly condemn this as a brazen and irresponsible use of excessive force which will only inflame tensions even more and convince Iraqis that Americans are bloodthirsty oppressors.

I'm planning on sending an email soon. Should the rest of us? Could someone, maybe PeteNYC post something on his blog?

2. I personally don't need to hear Kerry condemn anything
Regarding Iraq, the main thing I want Kerry to do is win. If he turns out to be a great president, which he might, he will be able to improve the situation in Iraq.

11. this is implying that all you care about is that he wins
and you don't care if he is a complete dolt as a President. His strategy may back fire if the heat gets too hot in Iraq and the people see nothing coming from Bush or Kerry. I don't like Kerry but I want to see more from him then what we are getting. What about our troops ,children some of them dying? Isn't that worth having him speak out?

3. Not a good idea, IMHO.

The invasion and occupation are good targets for criticism. But people's sons and daughters are dying over there and a Presidential candidate shouldn't criticize tactics in an ongoing battle. We should never have invaded Iraq and we ought to get the hell out ASAP, but none of us has any evidence that the way the Army and Marines are defending themselves is inappropriate to the circumstances in which Bush and his henchmen have put them. Criticize the war, not the warriors,

4. Nobody is criticizing soldiers by criticizing tactics.

6. ordinary soldiers don't create battle tactics
That is officers and politicians, for the most part. In this case an appointee named Rumsfeld, and and VP named Cheney, not to mention the neocon horde.

12. Not defending, attacking
It's already a massacre, 450+ Iraqi dead and 1000 hurt.

Few hundred civilians were allowed to leave the city of 300,000, but not any men in fighting age.

If this blatantly illegal collective punishment is not a crime against humanity, I don't know what is.

Every American, Kerry included, who does not raise his voice against this crime, is guilty by association.

15. Yes, it seems like a small-scale version of the Nanjing massacre, which
didn't START as a mass slaughter of civilians, but as a search for the remnants of Chiang Kai-shek's army. Once they'd gotten all the obvious soldiers, the Japanese thought they'd better get all the men who could possibly be soldiers, and then any family members who tried to protect them, and pretty soon they were killing everyone in sight.

I'm not equating the two incidents, just pointing out that these tactics have a way of getting out of control.

13. Ask not for whom the bell tolls... .
With all due respect PSU84 but it's time our soldiers realize they have been hijacked by out-of-control oligarchic psychopaths. How many innocents will be killed before the basic humanity in each and every human being and that includes our soldiers, prevails and stops this murdering madness? There's a line in the sands of Arabia and if our men and women cross it even God won't save them. Mutiny on the Tigres now!

8. I'm going to write a letter
I'm not so certain what Kerry should do, but I do want to him to know of my/our concerns. It needn't be an attack. Kerry can be supported by letting his campaign know what his supporters are concerned about.
