The difference between the nominating speeches was that the Clinton supporters remained seated while applauding the pro-Obama speakers and the Obama supporters remained seated while applauding the pro-Clinton speakers. It's not that people don't care deeply, it's just that people here are accustomed to the perspective that you never know who you're going to need to depend on the next time you need help in a driving blizzard.

We sort of take the same viewpoint in politics...

4. Got there at 2 PM (way early)
and did a few chores and made a few calls. Left a little after 5. There were a LOT of people out in the lobby who were tryig to get into the caucus room. Snow King is the biggest venue in town (that's useable in the winter) and it was pretty overwhelmed. Lots of new voters, but also a lot of stalwarts from years gone by. Lots of cowboys; I mean, folks who make a living chasing cows around. I tried to get a couple of them to drink a latte, but they had Jack Daniels. The coffee got cold...
