indication that campaign architects are reading the DU?
article below made me smile -- I had posted VALUING FAMILIES ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=174654 ) as opposed to just jaw-boning about family values back in August 2003 -- nice to see that either it's a GMTA or that someone from Kerry's campaign is checking the DU....

Kerry calls Bush spending cuts unbelievable, 'almost criminal'

By Mike Glover -- The Associated Press

CHICAGO -- Democrat John Kerry on Friday sought to refocus the presidential race on pocketbook issues, warning of "almost criminal" cuts in bedrock training and education programs.

"I'm tired of talking about valuing families and not valuing families," Kerry said. "There are unbelievable, unacceptable, staggering numbers of young lives that are being abandoned in our country."

1. Nice work by you and by Kerry's campaign: Chris Heinz is a DUer
and so the campaign WILL get some great ideas here.

I have a contact working in the campaign and I have been sending him stuff on the military -- treatment of the injured, unfairness of nat. guard and the private mercenary/security armies, etc.

Feel free to send anything to me on these subjects.

The wit andf intelligence and depth of understanding here is really quite awesome.

2. :)
although "family values" issue has never been big on my list of concerns... it has nagged me since the repugs unveiled it and have been beating Dems over the head with it ever since and Dems have been unable to counter it

my first reaction -- waaay back when -- was to wonder who's family values are they talking about, are they the same family values that I have or that my neighbor has? As this family value flag was waved more -- I wondered just what were these family values? Repugs have never really defined them.

Meanwhile, if repugs are sooooo concerned with protecting these undefined family values then what steps/actions are they taking? None that I could see other than 'jaw boning' about it and then cutting programs/funding that would give families the help they need to maintain, improve and support their own family values...

nice to see that we are being heard and yes, any ideas/comments I have I will be sure to pass them along to you
