I have a question regarding the Wyoming Caucus. |
|
Was this a "closed caucus"???? I was under the impression that only Reg. Dem's could participate. However I heard on one of the cable channels tonight that Indies and pukes could participate. Which is it, anyone know for sure? My reason for asking is if it was for Dem's only, this shows that Obama can beat Hillary in a closed Dem. Primary without relying on Indies and Rep crossovers!!!!:bounce:

1. Yes, you had to register 15 days prior to participate. |

3. sort of - no history of voting Dem in the past required - just needed to |

want to participate as a Democrat. All persons residing in the county and registered to vote as Democrats at least 15 days prior to the county caucus/convention (no later than February 22, 2008) may vote at the county caucus/convention and be elected as delegates to the State and National Conventions.
About 10 times 2004 showed up - but that is still less than 10% of general vote - a vote Dems always lose by large margins (Local Dems can get elected to local office).

Maybe I am wrong but my opinion would be that GOP crossovers are november crossovers and enthusiastic workers for Obama. GOP crossovers for Clinton will be there against us and then some in November. The GOP who don't participate will break more for Obama or come out in fierce droves against Clinton.
The other issue is our crazy quilt process that is way too gamed by Independents and the GOP, especially in a heated race. Something should be done about that whatever you think about the results THIS year.
