Obama's secret ploy to win super delegates revealed....
Help Democrats get elected... :)

Physicist Bill Foster, a Democrat running in his first political campaign, is heading to Congress after defeating Republican dairy owner Jim Oberweis in a result that was unthinkable just weeks ago.

The loss is a huge psychological blow to the Republican Party, already reeling from a slew of congressional retirements and fundraising woes. Democrats hadn’t contested Hastert’s seat since 1986 and, in Foster, had a political novice running in a traditionally Republican district.

The National Republican Congressional Committee spent $1.2 million on the race -- nearly one-fifth of its entire cash on hand — in a failed attempt to hold on to what many political observers felt would be a fairly easy seat to retain.

Both parties’ leading presidential candidates spent time in the district to campaign for Foster and Oberweis. The Foster campaign aired an advertisement in the campaign’s final week featuring Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) touting Foster’s ability to bring change to Washington.

Most campaign watchers are pretty sure that Foster will endorse Obama... +1 Super delegate for Obama. I think this is the single best reason to pick Obama for president. He will deliver us many Democrats even in Red districts. :)

11. If he comes to my district and helps in any way get rid of our congressman
I will happily take over any kissing responsibilities that are involved.

We sent our Congressman to a federal penitentiary and got an ideologically twisted idiot.

15. He won't. Foster is a Democrat.
These days, Bill is only asking for votes from the other side.

5. Your right.. Obama didn't deliver this seat...
but I do think he helped. Obama is popular in the red areas of Illinois. They helped get him elected.

6. I can't tell you how sweet this victory was. Obercow's ads...
.. were pathetic, and aired constantly. Then the Obama ad started playing, and oh man. Obama has coattails a mile long.

For example you can learn that at OBERWEIS HEADQUARTERS whom they refer to as "milk dud" there wasn't a lot of

happiness or good news but there was lots of ice cream.

This guy and Franken would be a funny pair,

"one of the great lessons I've learned on this campaign is I really do like people. it's only the scientists that drive me crazy."

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on Bill Foster’s special election victory in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District. The Democratic Majority in Congress has now grown to 232-198.

“Congratulations to Bill Foster on his victory tonight. Bill Foster’s victory in the seat that was held by Speaker Hastert sends a political shock wave across America this election year. It is a stunning rejection of the Bush Administration, its Republican allies, and presidential nominee John McCain. Republican candidates learned tonight that Senator McCain, who campaigned with the Republican nominee, cannot save them from defeat this November against strong Democratic challengers, even in districts that voted overwhelmingly for President Bush.

“Despite spending 20 percent of the their cash on hand, the NRCC was unable to hold a seat easily won by President Bush and held by Speaker Hastert for 20 years. Americans of all political stripes are rejecting Republicans’ divisive, status quo politics and turning to Democratic candidates for change. I am grateful to Senator Dick Durbin, Senator Barack Obama, and the Illinois Democratic delegation and candidates for encouraging the people of this district to vote for change by supporting Bill Foster.

“Voters of all political stripes responded to Bill Foster’s commitment to change. With his unique background as a respected scientist and a successful businessman, Bill Foster will be a tremendous asset to our Democratic Caucus, as we continue fighting to strengthen our economy and ease the squeeze on America’s struggling middle class families.”

Durbin, left, also attended the victory party.

Somehow, the man of the hour snuck into his own party.

Twenty minutes after unofficially becoming the Fox Valley's newest congressman-elect, Democrat Bill Foster surprised the raucous crowd at Long Island Sound Banquets in Aurora when he entered from a rear door. Seconds later, chants of "Foster, Foster" clearly announced the former Fermilab scientist was now a congressman.

Foster's party entrance befitted the stunning win over perennial GOP bridesmaid Jim Oberweis. He topped Oberweis by just more than 5,000 votes, unofficially, across the 14th Congressional District to fill the remainder of retired Rep. Dennis Hastert's term.

"Back in the lab, this is something we'd call a pretty successful experiment," Foster deadpanned to start a 14-minute victory speech.

After collecting hugs from his teary-eyed children, Foster thanked voters, "who demanded change and got it," and his army of campaign staff and volunteers.

He was also quoted as saying that the campaign taught him that he really did like people its just scientists in the lab he cannot stand.

16. It was always a good supposition.
Now with proof and another delegate the argument remains strong. The Obama campaign wins seats. It was his state and there were countless legitimate reasons for Hillary not to spend time there, but does anyone think Hillary would have helped win that seat if she campaigned locally and heavily for Foster as well? It was THE big race for the party this month.

It is not secret or a new argument or absolutely proved, but sometimes the obvious has a long road to plow.

17. Just imagine if he did ads everywhere there is a repuke incumbent, including where I live
that could be just enough to create a giant majority in congres. We could sure use him here, but I fear the Democrat that will be running against our beatable 1st term "club for growth" republicon rep is a Hillary supporter like our governor
