Why would anyone be surprised about this? The "I got mine, gotta keep it mine" group. A farmer uncle was Dem while he needed all the help he could get but turned Repiglican, the party of greed and arrogance, when he became a person of means.

how much $ Gates gives to various charities, the fact that he gives $ to Bush, shows that peace and prosperity in the world is still second to Gates' bottom line.
Fuck him.

You know...Bill Gates has a lot of nerve to donate so much money to AIDS prevention in India and Africa and then support Bush.
If those countries,(or any country for that matter), received "compassion" and a common sense policy from this administration and the pharmaceuticals, he could donate his billions to something else.
Of course I heard him state that he is working so hard to prevent AIDS in India because he "admires their education system", they are smart and Microsoft has much invested in India.
What a hypocrite.

Gates is just like any other rich businessman in this country: he butters up both sides of the aisle because he wants to avoid the difficulties he faced when Janet Reno was AG.
Previous to that, Gates and MS stayed out of electoral politics. Unfortunately, that worm Scott McNealy at Sun was greasing the palms of several prominent Democrats, and put some ideas into their heads about chopping Gates down to size.
And even if he DID give $$ to Repubs, could you blame him? He's spent the last five years dodging anti-trust charges brought against him during a DEMOCRATIC administration. Why the hell would he want to see them back in power?
Cripes, that's like repairing the car of a guy who just ran you over, so he can do it again. This is politics, where money talks and bullshit not only walks, but runs the show. Welcome to the real world.
