Barack Obama is a liar.
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 02:35 PM by Skip Intro
A few days ago:

---------------------------
One note I want to make on this. I haven't spent too much time talking about my opponent, but I do have to say, she was quoted this morning in Mississippi. Because one of my advisors said, in an interview overseas, "Senator Obama gave a timeframe for withdrawal but it would be subject to decisions and the situation at the time. So Senator Clinton used this to imply I wasn't serious about bringing this war to an end. I just have to mention this, because I don't want anybody here to be confused. I was opposed to this war in 2002. If it had been up to me, we would never have been in this war. It was because of George Bush with an assist from Hillary Clinton and John McCain that we entered into this war. A war that never should have been authorized, never should have been waged. I've been against it in 2002, 2003, 2004, 5/6/7/8 and I will bring this war to an end in 2009. So don't be confused. (standing ovation &applause) So - Don't be confused when Sen. Clinton is not even willing to acknowledge that she voted for war. She says she voted for Diplomacy despite the title that said Authorization to Use US Armed Forces in Iraq. I DON'T WANT TO PLAY POLITICS WITH THIS ISSUE.."

----------------------------

Last November:

----------------------------
MR. RUSSERT: You were not in the Senate in October of 2002. You did give a speech opposing the war. But Senator Clinton’s campaign will say since you’ve been a senator there’s been no difference in your record. And other critics will say that you’ve not been a leader against the war, and they point to this: In July of ‘04, Barack Obama, “I’m not privy to Senate intelligence reports. What would I have done? I don’t know,” in terms of how you would have voted on the war. And then this:“There’s not much of a difference between my position on Iraq and George Bush’s position at this stage.” That was July of ‘04. And this: “I think” there’s “some room for disagreement in that initial decision to vote for authorization of the war.” It doesn’t seem that you are firmly wedded against the war, and that you left some wiggle room that, if you had been in the Senate, you may have voted for it.

SEN. OBAMA: Now, Tim, that first quote was made with an interview with a guy named Tim Russert on MEET THE PRESS during the convention when we had a nominee for the presidency and a vice president, both of whom had voted for the war. And so it, it probably was the wrong time for me to be making a strong case against our party’s nominees’ decisions when it came to Iraq.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21738432/page/2
-----------------------------

So, in 2004, he said things almost complimetary in regards to the war - certainly not attacking the vote anymore, and excused that in Nov 2007 by claiming there were political considerations that prevented him from making a strong case against the war and the vote.

But he doesn't want to play politics with the issue.

Sell it to the faithful, Barack, a lot of us see through you now.

Keep drinking the kool-aid instead of dealing with the truth of the matter.

12. This is old news. There is no need to refute anything. Obama has been
"vetted" on this "inconsistancy." It's no longer an issue. Deal with it.

35. 'Mirage' is a better term for Obama than 'lie'
“Mirage” is the best metaphor for Barack Obama. He shimmers on the horizon, a promise of…something. But as one draws closer, Obama dissipates into nothingness – which is his purpose.

2. He also lies when he says he made that speech in the middle of a hard fought US Senate campaignq
That's curious, because he didn't start running until 2003 and he made that speech in 2002.

37. It wasn't that "hard fought" with Ryan, either.
The Illinois Republican Party is in tatters and has been since at least George Ryan's run for Governor. Obama's US Senate run was a cake walk.

Obama could've slept through the campaign and won, as long as he had a "D" behind his name.

It wasn't his fault we screwed up and he tried to reduce the impact of that error

Let's not make the same mistake again. Any Dem who voted for the Iraq War is fatally flawed.

31. Have you forgotten what standing up for fellow Democrats looks like?
I'm sure with you being a Clinton fan, you're more likely to be familiar with trashing fellow Dems (Kerry, Obama, etc.).

But, in case you've forgotten, some Dems are still faithful to the party.

It's almost something out of a science fiction movie to think we wouldn't laugh out loud to even consider him a candidate for president.

Saturday Night Live couldn't have been more spot on.
