Obama Should Start Vetting His Cabinet Now. |
|
He should consider his possible VP's and also his Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State. This could shoot his critics, that say he is weak on defense, out of the water.
Yes, he should have Hillary on the possible list for VP's. But a better choice may be John Kerry or Senator Jim Webb? Or even Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, who is retiring?
Also, for Secretary of Defense, he should consider General Wesley Clark or General Anthony Zinni? Or even, General Colin Powell? Although Powell does not have the respect of many in the Democratic Party, he would add credibility to Obama's Commander in Chief credentials.
For Secretary of State, he should consider Joe Biden or someone of that stature. Anyway you slice it, we are going to lose a couple of Senators. What would be the advantage of discussing these names? It would automatically stop the talk by Hillary, and McCain, that Obama does not cross the Commander in Chief "threshold".

both generals and diplomats, stand beside Obama. It would go far to squash the CiC ready argument.

I like the Zinni choice, as VP though.

in hell would Colin Powell add anything to anyone's administration? ... he's a disgrace.

Obamazinni.
Obamazinni.
"Yes, I'll have the Obamazinni, but can you put the olives on the side? Thanks."
"These orchids are endemic to the Obamazinni region of Papua New Guinea."
"We're going to an exhibit of Obamazinni pottery this weekend."

12. Most of our candidates have indicated that they would have some |
|
pukes around. It really rubs me. Clinton wanted to use Poppy and colin. Kucinich mentioned the two necessary wings of the eagle. I don't want and pukes anywhere in a Democratic Administration, but it is one of those things we get a very little say in.

and understands that some Republicans may have to be included in his Cabinet in order to quell some of the divisions. We don't like it but he is right.

9. No... he shouldn't... he should keep his eye on the prize. |
|
If I have any complaint about Obama, it's his tendency to "look beyond" rather than deal with what's at hand.
He needs to remember the wise words of Shaka Zulu... "Never leave an enemy behind or it will rise again to fly at your throat."

They would not be able to criticize his Commander in Chief credentials. Of course, he could say these are some of the people that he is considering for his Administration, if he is the nominee? No firm committment but to show people he is serious about national defense and his job as Commander in Chief. It's all in how he would frame it.

20. Oh yeah, Colin Powell would be a REAT choice |
|
Since he was such a lapdog for Bush's War. Remember that bullshit presentation to the U.N.?
Yeah, he'd be a great freakin' choice. Let's fill the damn cabinet with Pukes. The Big O can show how bipartisan he is.
"Bipartisan" to the Pukes just means the Dems bend over and get ready to take it ... one of these days (or years) maybe the Big O will learn that.
