Hillary Clinton did not endorse John McCain...
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 02:52 PM by Maddy McCall
She is not a monster or a cheater.

She's not a traitor and she isn't destroying the Democratic party.

And your life will go on after she receives the Democratic nomination.

I agree, she did not endorse McCain. Only stated a fact. Stating fact does not make an endorsement. The facts are, Obama has not served a full term in the US Senate, was not in the senate to vote for or against the Iraq war but HAS voted to FUND the war

47. In all honesty, Maddy McCall
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 04:48 PM by Emit
I love your frog and, prior to the mess in GD: P, was always fascinated by it. Could be that I'm partial because we have a small pond with frogs in our backyard -- heard the first one last night as a matter of fact -- a sure sign that spring is on the way here in the Great Basin.

Consider this an olive branch, Maddy. I hate the vitriol on DU GD: P that came with this primary and thought you might like to know that I am outnumbered in my own household:

Both of my little ones are for Clinton:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=4681620

As is my teenager. She said to me, rather forlornly, the other night, "If Hillary loses, consider that me ... I can relate ... " because she recently lost a well-fought battle in her own primary run for Sr. Class President:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=2906635

She also thinks it's Hillary's turn and that Obama doesn't have the experience yet, and should be Hillary's VP instead of POTUS. She says her high school has cult-like groups of Obama supporters who freak her out. Her best friend's dad is a lobbyist, and doesn't like Obama, so many of her friends, bright young women, are HRC supporters and proud of it. Sometimes she even reads DU, and rolls her eyes at my posts.

We've had some lively discussions, to say the least, and I'm encouraging her to go out for the debate team next year. ;)

Even my own mother is suspicious of Obama, and I feel she is experiencing some weird teevee brain rot that might very well be bringing out some form of latent racism in her, which, I swear I thought I would never encounter with my mom:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=4676093

The other night she was over for dinner and said that they had been showing a lot of coverage of Obama's church's minister and his relationship to Farrakhan, and she's beginning to think that the church is equivalent to a black 'white supremacist group.' She's shocked because her brother, the most prejudiced sibling of hers (her own words, not mine --they all grew up in the deep south) is for Obama and she thinks he's just more sexist than racist. What topped it off, however, if that ain't enough, was her reference to the rumor that Obama is the anti-Christ, something one of her older siblings who still lives down south has been feeding her -- something about Mabus or Obamabush. Never in a million years would I have ever thought my mother would be discussing such matters in relation to politics. I mean, the anti-Christ, for heaven's sake?

On the flip side, all my close Republican relatives, including my SO are for Obama. I've mentioned those accounts before, whether you believed me or not, it is true.

Yeah, life is interesting in our household this primary election season. :hi:

than Obama to be president. Tell me, you don't think there was any better way to attack Obama? That comment threw many people into Obama's camp, myself included. Most left wing people who in the past we considered "friends" to DU have thrown in with Obama, most people have come out against what she said, and the best HIllary's supporters can do is claim that we are all cult members, we are all sheep being led, we are all brainwashed by this cult of personality. Whatever. Isn't it more likely that all these "former" free thinkers are actually still free thinkers and Hillary supporters are just angry because they chose to back Obama?

I'll vote for Hillary if she wins the nom. But what she did was about as low as you can get. And had Obama made the same claim, Hillary's supporters would be grinding him down right now, and rightfully so.

44. Everyday is Opposite Day in HillaryWorld.
In HillaryWorld, Hillary is the Goddess of Peace and cluster bombs are considered little white doves offered to comfort children after Hillary votes to use force against their sovereign nation.

It's cool to live in HillaryWorld and membership includes a lifetime of benefits all for the unbelievably low price of $YourSoul*.

If you buy into it now, HillaryWorld will throw in a free tour through the Garden of Anti-Hope and Terror where you can learn about Hillary's plight to single handedly stomp out budding hope all across the nation.

*(Some hidden fees and restrictions may apply. Membership rules may be changed in the event that they aren't benefiting Hillary.)

my life will go on. Because she did, in essence, endorse McCain and she is, without a doubt, a monster. The cheating is obvious as she is trying to steal the nomination by overturning the will of the people. What amazes me is, so many of her supporters, professed Democrats all, just don't care.

25. Ha!
Your political opponents need counseling, lol.

Is this the Democratic version of "Bush Derangement Syndrome"?
How cute.

Enter phase three of Clinton's supporters:

Denial: The initial stage: "It can't be happening."
Anger: "Why don't they hate Obama as much as I do?"
Bargaining: "Just let her get to Denver, then we'll see!"
Depression: "I'm so sad, John McCain's gonna win."
Acceptance: "President Obama."

Sorry your candidate was found floating upside down after Super Tuesday.
Despite all attempts to prove otherwise, it's nobodys fault but her own.

We can squabble all we want but we better get our shit together for the GE because O suporters need HRC supporters and vice versa in order for the DEM party to win.

41. Tell Me, Why isn't Hillary campaigning AGAINST McCain?
All Democrats should be attacking his flip-flops on taxes, almost joining Kerry as VP then supporting Bush (another flip-flop), lobbyists running his office and campaign, temper tantrums, and most importantly whether he is fit to be President.

I believe John McCain is fucking dangerous. Don't you?!

Why then, would anybody in good conscience try to win the Democratic nomination say anything that can be construed as praise for McCain?

Hillary will do anything to win, including making it impossible for Obama if he is the nominee to win the GE. Her strategy seems to be (1) I am going to take Obama down, (2) You will have to nominate me, or (3) nominate Al Gore or someone else.

53. Perhaps she did not directly endorse him... however
This is a pretty good indication of where her feelings lie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZsYWiywdCA&feature=related

What do I call that? Beating around the bush (and not the Bush we should be beating around) not to mention contempt and.. well, yes, for the sake of arguement, let us just say that it may possibly be considered favoritism?

Seriously, if that's not an endorsement - or at the very least, a statement that points out that she prefers the Republican candidate to her democratic opponent... I don't see what is. I guess you won't be convinced until she comes right out and says "McCain is better than Obama, and I fully support his campaign."

It's ok to be wrong though. When Obama wins the nomination, I'm sure he'll forgive even her.
