Hillary will drop out May 7th |
|
I'm calling it. Obama will make it close in Pennsylvania (within 10 points) and then win easily in North Carolina and pull an upset win in Indiana, netting 35 delegates between the two. With only about 210 delegates left after Indiana and North Carolina, there is no way she will catch up and be pressured to leave the day after the primaries as superdelegates flock towards him.

she will make sure Sen.Obama doesn't either and she needs time to assure that outcome. Sad, but true. I will be opening that bottle of champagne I've had since the 2000 election when she drops out!

If you took off your Obama-bot glasses and saw her realistically, and not as Satan, it might be easy to consider this as her strategy.

her bashing Sen.Obama....why would she want to be VP to a man not suited to answer the phone at 3AM and only has a 2002 speech to bring to the WH? My feelings were actually rather neutral until this last round of tactics. Lovey dovey one evening at a debate and a rabid dog the next day! I don't like her temperament.

it will take her being forced out of the race and since there is no mathematical way to do that to get the nomination and no one will have the Patience to continue with her line of attack hurting the entire party and the prospects for democratic candidates nationwide i hope the work has begun behind the scenes to begin her comeuppance. what we are witnessing the bush/mccain fight from 2000 with hillary in the bush role. its a movies didn't like the first time, wouldn't rent it on dvd and don't want to se it again.

the symbolism in hrc's bid to be president. if she were to just drop out that would affect women of all social standings, and IF she is going to lose, but I say she will win this, she will stay in this thing till the last dog dies...There is not damn good reason she would just drop out.....you may not like it by her staying in because I truly believe you know obama cannot win the general....

13. So you predict he'll reach the magic number with pledged delegates before the convention? |
|
here's my prediction:
Neither will get the nomination on pledged delegates alone. After FL and MI do a revote (and they will) and PA holds its primary, Clinton will take the popular vote lead. The super delegates will decide, over the will of the people (as feared), that because Obama got the most pledged delegates he should get the nomination.

21. I am going to be honest here. |
|
I personally feel that if she does not drop out by next week 3 things could happen.
#1 and most likely is she goes all the way to the convention regardless and likely ruins much of Obama's chance for a BIG win in November.
#2 The supers will flock and turn her into a lame duck. Permitting Obama to focus more on GE while continuing to win contests towards the win.
#3 Is a mixture of the two except for Clinton exits RIGHT before he gets enough delegates and tries to make herself game for VP.
I do not have much hope that Clinton will do the right thing and exit. Her past proves what she truly is about and only the supers flocking can turn her into a lame duck enough for Obama to start his GE run.
Things are looking worse and worse for November.

|
She knows she will lose that tally. She has a case built around winning Pennsylvania. Unless Obama wins PA, Hillary will still have her case to make and she will continue in the race until the SDs decide who they are supporting. She isn't quitting until Obama has enough total delegates to be the presumptive nominee.

After all, she believes that netting an entire -2 delegates over the past week or so is the equivalent of momentum. When you're that deluded, I'm not sure you'll drop out.

She's going to try and get all the super-delegates to steal the election for her. She's going to have an absolute fit and do anything she can think of to get the nomination. This is going to be more ugly than any of us can imagine.

32. Hillary is in it to win it! |
|
I don't see Hillary quitting before the Florida and Michigan issues have been resolved.
The Clinton campaign is all about asking the superdelegates to make a judgement call about which candidate can win in November, looking at the electoral college, blue states and battleground states: Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania.
But Hillary has to build on her March 4th results. Right now Hillary and Obama are level in national polls. A Clinton Comeback means she needs to start polling better than Barack.

41. You Obama supporters are, like, obsessed with the pledged delegate count. |
|
Superdelegates will look at the pledged delegates but they will also look at other factors like popular vote, national polls, battleground states, momentum, etc. - and make their own judgement about which candidate would have the best chance of beating John McCain.
Barack Obama had a very good February. No doubt about it. But can he maintain his position as the Democratic frontrunner or will the "Barack bubble" start to lose altitude? :eyes:
