Why do Hillary supporters assume that FL and MI dems won't vote dem |
|
in November or will sit at home if the delegates from those two states aren't seated? Do you think that little of dems in those two states? Do you realize that most dems don't even vote in primaries? Do you understand that most aren't caught up in the minutae that DUers are?
And I gotta say, if I lived in either of those two states, the delegates not being seated in Denver would certainly not sway my vote.
Lastly, it will be worked out and delegates in some permutation will be seated in Denver.

2. Last thing we need are disheartened Dems in Florida who don't not |
|
only support the nominee, but work hard...we can expect that if their primary votes are ignored...remember 2000? Florida is a swing state, and Michigan has the worst ecoonomy in the country right now...they need to feel like they will be heard.

4. You didn't answer my question |

and who says that FL dems are disheartened over this? Or MI dems. Sorry, but 2000 is not analogaous. And again, most dems don't even vote in the primaries.

3. people who feign outrage at the idea that Florida and Michigan wont be allowed to vote confuse me |
|
How many years to the votes of people in Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, and Montana count towards the nomination of the party candidate. Most elections, the nom is known well before these states vote?

5. You think that the media wouldn't play it up? |
|
FL and MI are disenfranchised. The media wants money. So what does it talk about for 3 months until the election?
"Are FL and MI going to flip?!? Are FL and MI outraged?!?"
This is why FL and MI *will* be represented and to suggest otherwise is politcally folly.

6. I doubt anyone is assuming that ALL dems would not vote |
|
Politics is played in the margins.
I cannot see an argument that this situation will cause more dems to vote in FL and MI.
This situation doesn't ensure Dem loses in those states, but it's hard to see how it helps. The effect is probably on par with the effect of Nader's candidacy in Florida 2000... a tiny effect, but not helpful, and disastrous in some scenarios.
