6. This is bad for Dems period.
It hurts Hillary as she loses a Superdelegate but more importantly he was seen as a law and order guy and now the Pubs will use this against us. I'm glad it happened now rather than later.

Especially if you position yourself so vehemently as a law and order type above ethical reproach. How could someone be so stupid.

24. Succession In New York State
Succession In New York State
10 Mar 2008 02:33 pm

If Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D) resigns, Lt. Gov. David A. Paterson (also a Clinton supporter), will take his place. If he, for some reason, decides not to accept the promotion, the president of the state senate pro tempore, who also happens to be the majority leader, Joseph Bruno, will become governor. He is, of course, Spitzer's arch-enemy.

25. It's Not That Big a Deal

It may ruin his political career, but that's about it. In case you dont know it probably 50% of the men in politics in washington are using hookers.

A lot of well paid high powered men use hookers, we just dont know about it.

I could care less if he was buying hookers, I care about corruption that actually involves the abuse of Government. This is a personal matter between him and his wife.

Yes it's illegal, but it's a personal matter, not a Government matter.

26. It's bad not just for Hillary supporters but our party as a whole
he was characterized as a "good guy" who was going to clean up corruption and he had aspirations of higher office--and might have made it. He was a rising star. Now his career is shot to hell.

I feel sorry for his wife and 3 kids.
