Give Sinbad some love!
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/03/sinbad-will-not-pipe-down.php

Sinbad wants to know: where is the love, TPM? A day after the world is made aware that I, Sinbad, have crossed the Commander-In-Chief threshold of foreign policy experience, you give me - what else? NO LOVE!

Look, maybe Sinbad was too angry or aggressive in his post yesterday. Sinbad knows from his experience solving the refugee crisis in Kosovo with Sheryl Crow and Hillary Clinton that anger is never a good way to commence negotiations.

So here's what Sinbad is going to do. Sinbad is going to sweet-talk your pleated goddamn Dockers off. And Sinbad is pretty damn sure that you're going to like it. How does Sinbad know this? Because I'm Sinbad, and you are not. Because I, Sinbad, pass the Commander-in-Chief threshold and YOU. DO. NOT.

(emphasis mine)

8. Even worse, I remember watching Sinbad on Star Search.
Just point me to the nearest ice floe, guys. Apparently, I am so over the hill I can't even SEE the hill anymore.

(although, actually, I'm more like "what hill? I don't remember any hill?)

2. Sinbad is so much funnier than Dennis Miller.

Dennis Miller
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

<snip>

Television career

In the early 1980s, Miller hosted 'The Trolley Show', a Saturday afternoon newsmagazine for teenagers, on Pittsburgh's KDKA-TV.<7> He also produced humorous essays for the syndicated Evening Magazine television program. Miller then began performing standup in New York comedy clubs such as Catch A Rising Star and The Comic Strip, as well as in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store. He appeared on Star Search, where he lost out to fellow comedian Sinbad after the two tied with on judges' scores, but Sinbad won with a higher studio audience approval rating.

7. that was the best blog post, evah
When I read it this weekend (and especially the responses, from all the folks who played along), I laughed so hysterically I had to send it to a couple of friends ... something I never, ever do.

It reminded me of the best elements of the Internet, which we've lost in all the bickering: humor, ability to be anyone, group play, satire. Loved it.

18. Sinbad is a good guy. Many, many years ago he did a show at Case
Western Reserve University (I was going to school nearby at the Cleveland Institute of Art) and that evening three CASE student were involved in a serious car accident. When Sinbad heard about the accident-and that one of the kids had no health insurance-he came back for several more shows and gave ALL of the proceeds to the young man's family to pay off his medical bill. I wish there were more like him out there.
