My Clinton v. Obama Boxing Analogy....*READ HERE*
Obama v. Clinton - 12 Round Bout - Title on the Line

Clinton was heavily favored going into the fight. She was the older, more battle-tested boxer and Obama was the surprising newcomer looking for the upset of his career. Obama viewed Clinton as over the hill and a boxer trying to relive her golden age...Clinton viewed Obama as lucky and unfit to wear the title. She had fought through tough opposition her entire career and this moment was supposed to be hers...there was no way some snot-nosed rookie was going to knock her off. Even though he did have a hefty fanbase that wanted to see it happen. In the pre-fight press conference she promised the fight would be over by the 5th round...

Round 1 (Pre-Iowa) - They dance around for the most part, feeling each other out. Neither over-commit, both come off as pretty defensive early on. Obama appears very quick on the counterattack, but Clinton lands some combos in the final 10 seconds to eek out the initial round.

Round 2 (Iowa win) - Obama begins this round with a series of quick jabs, and continues to counter her punches. Obama bobs and weaves, frustrating Clinton...he's a hard fighter to corner which Clinton continuosly attempts to do. Suddenly he lands a powerful hook, causing Clinton to stumble back...but she doesn't fall. She holds her composure as he finishes the round with a couple of quick jabs that she blocks. Obama takes the 2nd round and has momentum going into the next round.

It's now clear that Obama is for real and has come to fight.

Round 3 (New Hampshire and Nevada wins - Hillary Clinton shoes her iron resolve and refuses to go down, as Obama comes out swinging...trying to end it early. She lands a series of powerful blows herself and appears to have him reeling. She still can't corner him though, and Clinton over-commits on a few powerhouse punches and gets called for it by the referee (pre-SC...turning Obama into the "Black candidate). Obama fans begin booing loudly and chanting his name, but Obama is fine and promises payback in the next round...since he lost this one.

Round 4 (South Carolina win) - Obama lands a furious combo at the beginning of this round and backs Clinton into a corner. She holds up her glove to block the continuous jabs Obama is sending at her. The crowd is going wild and Obama chants ring throughout the crowd (Obama wins handily in SC). Obama comes back with a very convincing 4th round win and the commentators (MSM) express amazement that Obama is taking it to the pre-concieved winner. Clinton appears to have had the wrong strategy going in.

Round 5 (Super Tuesday) - Both Clinton and Obama land punches, Clinton fights back once more and shows the reason why she's such a respected fighter. Obama fails to knock her down again (Clinton wins CA, NJ, and Massachusetts). However, Clinton's initial idea of this being over by the 5th round proves to be dead wrong as Obama is clearly proving to be a much tougher opponent than she anticipated. This round is considered a toss up, or tie.

After the 5th round...it's Obama: 2, Clinton: 2, Split: 1

Round 6 through 8 (11 state sweep) - the next three rounds prove to be extremely tough for Clinton. Obama takes them handily and the crowd is growing defeaning. Obama looks like he may wrap it up...though Clinton takes the bone-crunching blows as she loses round after round to the newcomer. Her face is bloodied and she is winded. Obama caught his second wind after the 5th round, though she hasn't had time to catch hers and Obama has been relentless in his pursuit. The commentators repeat that all Obama needs in a good shot and it'll send Clinton to the mat...likely for good.

Round 9 (March 4) - Obama fails once more to finish the job as Clinton gets her second wind and sends Obama rocketing against the ropes. She is throwing everything she can at him, and Obama is now too tired to counterattack as he did early on. The commentators now begin to wonder whether Obama's lack of ability to finish may cause him the fight. Clinton seems hellbent on destroying Obama once and for all. Obama has gained a strong lead in the rounds...and it appears likely that she now needs a knockout as Obama will continue to avoid her punches in later rounds.

Round 10 (Wyoming) - Obama starts this round off solidly and tries to regain his composure after a terrible 9th round. How this round will end (Mississippi?) and what the future holds (Pennsylvania and beyond) remains to be seen. Though, as of right now, Obama has a split decision lead with the judges and it appears as if this will go down to the final second in the 12th round. Barring something dramatic, Obama comes off as the close favorite to win...but needs to fight smart as Clinton is crafty.
