Will there be a draft?????? |
|
If so, it will not be before the election will it??????I would think that would be the final blow to W's reign of "terra".

Yes, there will be a draft. No, I don't think it will be implemented before the election.
And my opinion is worth what you just paid for it!
BTW- welcome to DU! :hi:

Ok, if Bush goes completely NEOCON, then yeah, we'll have to invade Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Saudia Arabia, California, New York, Illinois, Cuba, Venezuela, France, .....
Maybe if we dont start stupid wars in the first place we wont need a draft

A draft is a miserable way to treat our young people. I hope I'm wrong.

2. Not a chance of it happening before the election. |
|
But a lot of these College Republicans who love * so much are going to get a nasty surprise if he wins.

Id love to see if they'd serve. Then we have a whole generation of Vietman chickenhawk-dove, vet hawk-dove fingerpointing going on.
Seeing how politically polarized this country is, I dont think this is a good think. Look at how it has riven our parents (i'm 23) generation apart.
Do we really want to put ourselves through this?
I would serve if i were drafted. Those who start a war should at least have served in one.
Who here wants to see a Neocon conscript division of talking-heads, neocons, and the american enterprise institute?

10. The 1st Chickenhawk Division. Sounds good. |
|
Outfit them with the same cruddy equipment they're giving our troops and put them out on the front line next time Bremer decides to pacify another city. Then make sure the embedded reporters get lots of camera footage of them crying and crapping their pants. Broadcast it live on FAUX.

7. It won't be worth asking * if he'll institute a draft during the debates. |
|
He'll just tell one more lie then claim it was the truth but circumstances changed and he had to ask Congress to authorize it.

No matter who wins the election, since none of the major parties candidates want to pull out of Iraq.

Especially after another thousand or so casualties.
If I was going to die it would be in the streets here.
Not in some shit hole fighting for Cheney's Halliburton.

I would report to the draft board without my glasses. Let them think my 20/300 vision is not correctable heh heh heh.
But, seriously, this issue has been thouroughly ignored by the evil corporatewhore media. We need to get this out NOW.

|
So, yes, at that point there will be a draft. This neo-con vision of Pax Americana requires "boots on the ground". There aren't enough volunteers to produce a military that will fulfill the neo-con imperialist dream. Ergo, the fix is in for young people.

20. In some ways, it would be a good thing. |
|
It would shatter public support for this war on Iraq because people would say "Holy shit! My kid could get drafted.". When the draft isn't around, its very easy for someone to say "Yeah. Bring it on.".

we need to get the word out NOW. When chickenhawks and apathetic types realize they, or their kids/grandkids, would be drafted (no exemptions for college), they are likely to do a 180 on the subject of Iraq. The sooner the better, I say, so I'm spreading the word!:hi:

21. If Bu$h is elected, or steals the election, there will be a draft. |
|
The PNAC plans to use Americans and the financial resources of the US for a worldwide police presence. They need many more warm bodies to accomplish this.
There will not be a draft before 2005.

There is virtually no way that the military will be able to keep up its activities if it doesnt, as a good number of the people over in Iraq will soon come to the end of their enlistments and many have no intention of re-upping and they cant force an extended tour on people who have finished their milirary service.
