2. Neither candidate should...it's a matter of NY state politics. |
|
if the state Democratic Party calls for Spitzer to resign, or if the legislature passes a resolution equivalent to a vote of no confidence calling for resignation, then so be it, but neither Obama nor Clinton has any business getting involved, even to the point of making a statement on the issue. Not their place.

I think this decision is going to be resolved over Mr. and Mrs. Spitzer's closing conversation at their residence later this evening.
Barack Obama and everyone else generally has no business dictating the rules of others' marriages and Hillary Clinton in particular has no business weighing in in that regard. I wouldn't list marital fidelity as the Clintons' long suit.

Let's let the people who wanted to cover up David Vitter, Mark Foley and Larry Craig bring this up.

...I have a lot of sympathy for his wife and other family. I don't give a shit who Spitzer backed....it has got to be so awful for the family to have to go through this.
How sad.....

5. He should stay out of it.. |

it is a decision that Gov. Spitzer, his family, the NY voters, and the state party apparatus have to make. There is absolutely nothing to gain from piling on Spitzer right now.

Hillary should have emphatically called for his resignation (at a press conference, at minimum).

That is the more appropriate question.
I leave this up to his colleagues and constituents in New York.

It's state government business. Probably has nothing to do with either candidate, but certainly not one from IL. I don't actually think there's any reason for Hillary to inject herself in this either, and I doubt she will any more than she can help.
