8. see, let me explain it to you
back when this forum wasn't a cesspool, we actually discussed the issues and how each candidate stood, what their plans were, etc.

You haven't been here long enough to have seen it. It was a pretty cool place.

Now its all about Monica Lewinsky and Donnie McGlurking or whatever that guys name is.

Meanwhile, 5 soldiers died in Iraq today...

4. When there are only two candidates and they have the same positions on everything...
This is General Discussion: Primaries.

There are no real meaningful policy differences in the primaries.

So this is not the forum for discussing policy.

6. This really mortifies me and trust me I've seen a bunch of threads

that should have, but didn't make me half as freaked as this does.

Of course we deserve to win, what did the entire world do to deserve another republican in the White House. Yes there are some volatile threads and maybe they're off topic (as is this one)but we DO deserve to win in spite of the idiocy in GD:P.

x(

edited because I'm not really mad, just freaked out by the thought of another 8 years.

10. Okay - Who should the candidates choose for Cabinet members?
Also Department heads - very important for a new president to brng change to the country

13. Good question!
I feel that either candidate would do themselves a disservice by not choosing Bill Richardson as Sec State. I'd also like to see Joe Biden in a cabinet-level position, if not VP. those are the most obvious choices for me, but I'm certain that there are qualified people for other positions that either candidate would pick. I wouldn't mind seeing Edwards as AG, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

12. I really don't care about the issues this election
Obama and Hillary are basically the same, and I find arguing the issues to be futile. Any differences between the two will get hammered out in Congress.

What I am looking for is someone who can lead this country forward, not just propose policy.

15. Agreed. At this point, ANY Democratic candidate is going to be such a huge improvement
policy wise, over the current administration. The question is, who has a better chance of winning? Who is pursuing a more successful strategy, raising money, getting people involved and excited? Who can chart a new course for the party itself, not just the country? We need coattails and down ticket wins across all 50 states. We need to take back congress. We need a candidate who can send our country down a fundamentally different path, as Obama has said of Reagan. Someone who can reclaim liberalism from decades of right wing media attack, not someone who is going to further polarize the country and marginalize our party and its ideas.

16. How does a president lead if not by proposing policy?
If they don't propose policy, then what do they lead with?

14. I disagree....sort of....
We (the Democrats) do deserve to win in November. But GDP has lost it's reason for being as far as I can see.
