Kerry raising 10.6 million in 2 days
Isn't it great? It shows the chimp is not the oly one that can raise big money.

From WaPo - "Kerry also continued to add to his campaign treasury, raising $6.5 million at two fundraisers Wednesday night, after a $4.1 million event in Boston on Tuesday night."

1. that is amazing... simply amazing....
I give Dean a lot of credit. He made it really POPULAR to give what you can. I never realized how CRUCIAL and beneficial even $20 is to a campaign... I am no deaniac, but he really changed the landscape for the dem party in some very positive ways, including fundraising mentality.

YeeeeeaaaaaHHHH!

6. I praise Dean most for being a good sport and a team player
Granted he did call his primary opponents Bush-lite but still, the Osama ad was just plain WRONG. Yet after all of that, he's still out there doing everything he can to help the democratic nominee just like he promised. He's shown everybody how important it is to put personal differences aside and work to get our asshole-in-chief out of the white house.

4. A simple question...
since I don't remember my WaPo password right now....

Was this $2000 a plate fund rasing or was it Dean style?

Cause one of the posters above thinks that it is small individual donations....

This concerns me because Dean style fundraising doesn't have any strings attached.....

whereas, the old-style fundraising is mostly through elites and interest groups who will seek a quid pro for their donations...

We should be very concerned that in order to equalize ourselves with Bush in the financing, we will sell our Party's soul (yet again) to the highest bidder...

To sum up.....Dean style funding good...Bush style funding bad!!!

9. Kerry doesn't DO quid pro quo. He never took corporate donations.
His largest contributor has been his brother's co-workers at a Boston law firm, who, over a 19 year period donated about 230,000. That's about what one of Bush's pioneers donates in ONE election.

Kerry cowrote the Clean elections bill with Paul Wellstone. He has advocated for public financing of campaigns since he joined the Senate in 85. As president he will use the bully pulpit to convince the American people that public financing is the best route to preserving democracy.

5. I'm actually getting sort of tired of these fundraising announcements
I'd like to hear less about money and more about 10 point poll leads.

8. Kerry has raised $15 million this week alone
Acording to a story on Yahoo he has raised $15 million this week alone.
.
NEW YORK - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) told well-heeled party donors on Thursday he plans to launch an advertising campaign next week that is designed to define him for voters largely unaware of him.

"A lot of people don't really know who I am," Kerry said at a breakfast where he raised $2.5 million. "The level of communication we need to establish here is enormous."

</b>Kerry has raised nearly $15 million this week. While he lags far behind the nearly $200 million President Bush (news - web sites) has raised, the Massachusetts senator said he has managed to avoid allowing the president to use that financial edge to define him.
