John Kerry town hall meeting in Harlem on C-Span with Hillary and Rangel
i just saw the town hall meeting john kerry held in nyc and he was really good. he answered all the questions as specifically as he could. he said one of the problems with the war on drugs is that it doesn't provide for treatment and education as is provided when it comes to alcohol and smoking and he will provide that. talked about racial profiling, how he is against it and even with improvements in race relations we have to keep going and continue improving. said martin luther king's dream was about not just race but economic justice, the right to organize etc. talked about aids, haiti, rwanda and sudan genocide. talked about the minimum wage and how republicans are holding it up and wont even allow it to come to a vote.said the aids bill he wrote about 3 years ago passed in senate but being held up in the house because it involves sex education, and condoms. said a lot more but than this. i think cspan 2 is going to repeat it sometime after 5 am eastern time today. try to catch it if you can.

1. also, the anti war guy was not a heckler
as some news reports made him out to be. he was a regular person in the audience that john kerry himself called on to take a question. kerry did pretty good in giving his position on it and even allowed the guy to finish asking and follow up the question. he said in the end that multilateralism is a strength and applied it to not just iraq but how it could help in many parts of the world such as haiti, rwanda before, and now sudan which seems to be having similar problems. and dealing with global aids. fixing relations with the rest of the world was a big part of kerry's message.
