Looks like Bush is having problems with college students too.
Kerry Leads Bush 48% to 38% among College Students, While Identification with GOP Dives

Identification as a Republican has dropped from 31% to 24% just since fall 2003, while the number saying they are Democrats has risen from 27% to 32% in the same time..

1. I just heard those same stats
on CNN. Now if you think about the Kerry "kids" out there on the campaign trail vs. Bush.....Actually, what kind of college campus outreach does Bush have??? The twins?

2. I doubt this.
Among youth my age 18-20 there is a very sharp rightward lean that did not appear in the next oldest group of Americans. I do not know about the current composition of the high school age.

11. Recently
in a cantina near my home, there was a group of about 15 archaeology students, a professor, and 2 assistants having a celebration party after finishing work on a dig. After a long political conversation with the prof, it was time to go. As I was leaving, I turned to the group and said "whatever you guys do, register to vote, and vote for Kerry. We absolutely have to get rid of Bu$h."

I left the cantina to a really long, loud chorus of cheers.

3. College Republicans are very active and disgusting
shrub and the rnc supply the lil' thuggies with supplies out the wazoo. I know because I'm the pres. of our College Democrats and the thuggies have been taken care of very well.

They also have stooped to such levels as protesting out roundtable disscussions (wtf?), our programs, and this week are holding a protection of marriage week. :puke:

4. Yet There Were No Youngsters At My Caucus Near DU
campus...our group was primarily old folks, and boomers. I hope these kids do their duty and vote in November.

5. My son is wonderful. He got offers of scholarships to Texas AM.
Hefty ones, too. But he said he would not be able to survive Texas or the ROTC domination of that campus.

6. Fickle kids....
I doubt there are tons of students actively leaving one party for another. To a certain degree it's about following trends and soft support is meaningless since it won't translate into votes in November.

9. This is a good sign.
Despite intense well-funded GOP campaigning on many campuses, these young people are seeing through the BS.

Maybe there is some hope for this world after all.

10. Now, if only they would turn out and vote.
Of course that can be said for much of the population.
