Olbamermann
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 07:53 PM by HughMoran
I am a big Keith Olbermann fan, but I had to turn him off today. I always liked his show because he made fun of Republicans and their many follies. Now he seems to spend an inordinate amount of time beating one of our candidates about the head and neck. I've never seen him so obsessed. I'm sure fans of the other candidate are enjoying every minute of it - but I would have preferred that he had remained at least remotely neutral during this primary season. Oh, well - it'll be over soon I hope :(

1. He speaks truth to power
And if that power is screwing up, then he'll say so.

Time for this debacle of a primary campaign to toss in the towel.

It
is
over.

2. Why shouldn't he? It was a completely indefensible and racist set of remarks.
Any unbiased observer can recognize that, including a lot of people inside the Clinton campaign. And the reason the campaign is standing by it is because they're playing to the votes of racists in central PA.

I wasn't referring to any particular topic actually. You seem to be stuck in another argument.

This is a daily occurance.

7. Boo hoo. Reality has a well known bias.
If the Clinton camp doesn't want to get beat up for smearmongering, then they should quit smearmongering.

Just curious if you believe he has treated both candidates equally.

The fact that that works out poorly for one campaign is their fault, not his.

It is very rare that someone can be both objective and neutral.

8. And good god are there racist in central PA. I moved to PA in 2004 and I left in
2006 after getting tired of the overt racism.

My first encounter with a PA redneck: It was my first day in our new house, and I went to the corner store to pick-up a few things for breakfast. Me and another gentleman reached the door at almost the same thing, so I do the nice thing and hold the door open and say "after you". The guy turns around and looks at me, and with this drawl he says "men dawnt hold dawrs for other men". He walked in and on the back of his jacket he had the stars and bars on his back with a swastika tattoo on his neck, just below his ear.

4. Keith generally doesn't condone bullshit, lies, treachery, racism, etc. Too bad for Hillary. Kind of
a nice break from here, where her devotees excuse this sickening spectacle she is shaming herself and the party with.

11. I wonder why he is so obcessed?
It seems unseemly that he is a booster for one Democrat over another. I know his boss Dan Abrams thinks there is an issue with his bias and has gone out of his way to point out that the media is overly harsh when it comes to Hillary.

Second, Keith has always called "bullshit" on people regardless of who they are. Just because you don't like him calling "bullshit" on your candidate doesn't mean he's biased against her. Maybe he's pissed off that she's stooped so low as to resort to race-baiting & fear-mongering to get votes.

And you should be ashamed of pulling out that same tired bullshit that the right wing uses under the guise of "Bush haters" and "liberal media bias." It's nothing more than blaming the person's failures on the media.

22. just because a ref keeps calling fouls on one team doesn't mean that the ref is biased
it could mean that one team is playing dirty.

If you want your OP to be taken seriously you have to list something specific that KO has been unfair.

Other than that one has to conclude that either KO is a terrible referee or one team is playing dirty.

27. If I wanted to watch DemocratsRus....I would tune to that channel
I would hope there would be a commentator, and that is what Mr Olberman is, to be critical of anyone. Republican or Democrat or anyone else for that matter, if were warranted. We don't need Democratic Propaganda. We could use a good dose of the truth.

In my book, I dont have to agree with Olberman 100% of the time. (though I do)I can respect him for being a man of and about truth. I'm a big girl, I can handle the truth. How about you?
