Hillary and Obama Both Need to Leave Their Race Cards at the Table
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 05:29 AM by JCMach1
oh and maybe the gender cards too.

If one more idiot proxy from the Clinton campaign says something stupid, I'm going to scream!

If one more idiot proxy from the Obama campaign suggests a party split at the convention over a possible Hillary nomination, I'm going to scream!

:argh:

Oh and while everyone was caught-up in this we still don't have the Clinton's tax records, and Rezko keeps getting uglier for Obama http://thesyndrome.com/index.php?s=rezko .

Ultimately, who is the winner in all of this:

:puke:

Just my two-cents...

1. Obama encourages the race card ....
he is embracing McCain as an indirect result of his pandering.

politicians I have yet to see in the party.

And, to think... he put himself forward as a unifier???

20. I see him as the Divider.
The man will not win the Whitehouse in November if we give him the nomination...That's how I see it and what I hear daily at work. It will come down to a white verses black voting pool since Obama is essential new in the political arena.

Many whites and other races don't know who he is, but know what he looks like. I recall in 04 that many last minute voters who do not understand the republican/democrat difference , they would ask who Kerry was a month to a day before the election. Most became registered to vote at the drivers license bureau so they were indeed clueless when they asked the question. Bush got millions of votes by such limited thinkers.

Obama is a divider since he refuses to acknowledge what will happen in the November election. He could easily become President if he first became Vice President and could demonstrate his abilities to all of America.

That is my observation.

21. I think it is worse than us losing in November....
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 07:54 AM by susankh4
I have come to see that Axelrod is among the most dangerous strategists in politics today. He finds a young, African American, candidate and then writes speeches for him. Speeches that dredge up the subconscious fears of Americans. Interjecting words like "bamboozled" and "hoodwinked" at every turn.

Further... we have the constant calling up of JFK=BHO. Yet another subconscious cue to our collective memories of the 60s.

At this point, if we don't give the nomination to Barack there will be lawsuits, riots and worse.... everyone knows it.

The subconscious fears and memories of voters are nothing to play around with. To be honest... I now fear for the lives of both our candidates. And I just want Hillary to get as far away from Axelrod and his minions as she can.

22. I think Obama lost in Mississippi yesterday.
The voters there 90% of the black vote had voted Obama the black man, not for a Democratic Candidate. That message will sting long and hard into Pennsylvania. An unforeseen loss is how I calculate it....It's the message and it is on the air every hour they talk to and about Geraldine Ferraro....what insight.

Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 07:59 AM by JCMach1
I say that as a Hillary supporter...

Hillary should distance herself and/or apologize for this as soon as possible.

God I wan the RACE BS to end...

If these guys want to talk about race, let's do it for real and talk about social justice, economic opportunity, and discrimination as REAL issues in this race for the WH.

26. Obama know this, and his campaign know this...
A deal is on the table for VP and he could be President in the future as a result. This is an open assessment in search for the "temperature of the nation".

31. I wanted this months ago...
Obama as VP. What a great job for President Bill Clinton, to mentor and introduce Obama to the international shakers and movers, train the Young Prince to be the best President in our history. Michelle and the daughters will also need that time to adjust. It's a once in a lifetime gift for Obama. If he loves America, he will accept the offer.

10. Again, the Hillary Herd says up is down!
Obama did not embrace McCain, but Hillary did. Obama did not play the race card, but Hillary supporters have several times. Let's not forget who brought up the topic of race this week: Geraldine Ferrarro.

There seems to be a pattern. When the Hillary campaign does something stupid, the Herd claims either she didn't or it was Obama who did it!

30. Any evidence of this?
Where has Obama specifically "pandered" to racial constituencies *OVER AND ABOVE* other races? That's the charge you've leveled; let's see the proof.

Both campaigns are playing with fire.

My fear is that it will a disastrous strategy for both of them. It is certainly very divisive.

Racist is one of the ugliest words and names. So easy to say. So hurtful to hear.

since N.H. It's NOT a "they're both doing it" issue. Obama has handled himself with dignity from day one.

13. They are both doing it now...
that's the point... Honestly, I don't care who started it.

It's like asking the Palestinians and the Israelis who lit the first bomb and ultimately about as valuable.

Unfortunately, the bombs are going off today and they are hurting the nominee (whoever that may be).

15. Enough of the hyperbolic name calling
If the Obama campaign keeps this up it will certainly doom/ dim his November chances.

It is a very ugly thing to BE a racist.
It is a very EASY thing to call someone racist.
It is a very hard thing to be called a racist.
There are actual racists out there.
Be careful where you throw your mud.
Do not divide the party with slanderous name calling and hyperbolic sensitivity.

This SERIOUS mud folks. It will stick.

32. Covers everything with blowback slime
Drive reasonable people away with baseless accusations of racism? Smart move.

Shout racism in a crowded theater and is it covered by the first amendment?

The boomerang effect - just to mix a few more metaphors.

Be worried. Be very worried.
