As this campaign is making rather clear, she doesn't really have the personality or the temperament of a successful natural politician. Bill, on the other hand, was probably the best natural politician of his generation. I think it's fair to say that given the qualities he has that she lacks, that she probably wouldn't have gotten where she is without him; but then it's also probably the case that he wouldn't have gotten where he did without her. (merely on the basis of temperament and likability, he makes the better front man for their act, though.)

Because in terms of the presidential primary and the path her campaign took, until pulling him back fairly recently, I think it is true.

Is that Hillary Clinton gave up a very bright future to go to Arkansas with Bill.

She was a star as an undergrad and in law school--and she was part of the impeachment
hearings against Nixon. She probably could have gone anywhere and had any job she
wanted in her field.

She followed dysfunctional Bill to Arkansas and put her plans on hold--in order to
prop up Bill's political career.

I get the feeling that part of Hillary's vociferous attitude that she's entitled to
the Presidency, is in part due to her anger and resentment about what she's sacrificed
for so many years. Not only did she put her career on hold, she has constantly endured
his degrading womanizing and sick affairs with cheap women.

Her entitlement to the Presidency, seems fueled by her assertion that
she damn well put up with too much--and now it's her turn.

If Hillary Clinton had gone her own way, her career would have risen faster and she would
have been a legal and political superstar earlier. Furthermore, she wouldn't be saddled
with such horrendous emotional baggage--rage, sorrow, resentment, self-centeredness and
layers of denial. In all accounts of Bill's abusive affairs, Hillary is described as
immediately going into "battle mode" and seeking to destroy and take down the women
making these accusations. She seems to have no real emotion about these actions. She
looks at Bill's degradations as a battle to be fought and won. Serious denial.

I think Bill Clinton has dragged Hillary down. I look at pictures of her at college, and I see
an idealistic, promising young woman who hooked up with an egomaniac sex addict who hobbled
her professionally and psychologically.

She can't win now and she knows that. However, she can't accept the reality because this isn't
just about losing an election --it's about how she lost herself many years ago. For
many years, she rationalized that she's have the "big prize" as reward for enduring her losses
and Bill's affairs. Now, that payoff isn't happening.

It's a tragic story, all the way around.

The sadder thing will be if Hillary wins the Presidency, her consolation prize, because of women's sympathy for her travails and because she sunk low enough to have let her campaign exploit latent racial fear and bias in order to win. But she will be in denial about it too.

Hillary Rodham or married someone not in the public arena. Margaret Thatcher succeeded, regardless if one likes or dislikes what she did with her success, other women have succeeded. Women can succeed on their own, Hillary may or may not have been one of those but, it is, in some ways, a moot point, as she IS Hillary Clinton and is running as Hillary Clinton with all the pluses and minuses that comes with it.

Geraldine Ferraro's comments, to me, are separate and apart. Her comments, past and current, are inherently racist in their content, they were when Hillary Clinton wasn't running and are when Hillary Clinton is.

Hillary Clinton should have strongly spoken out against the point of view Ferraro put forward but she chose not to and that speaks volumes to me, not because her last name is Clinton, but because she did not show the principles she espouses to have.
