I thought Clinton had to win BIG in Texas and Ohio to be the nominee?
OK, am I missing something here? According to Bill Clinton she should be gone. Clinton actually has not won Texas? Obama has more delegates?

Quote:- Even Clinton's most devoted surrogate -- her husband, Bill Clinton -- acknowledged the do-or-die stakes on Wednesday in Beaumont, Texas, conceding that a loss in Texas or Ohio would likely doom her candidacy...

According to (CNN) — Illinois Sen. Barack Obama has won the Texas Democratic caucuses and will get more delegates out of the state than his rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, who won the state's primary, according to CNN estimates.

And though Clinton won more delegates than Obama in the primary, 65 to 61, Obama's wider delegate margin in the caucuses gives him the overall statewide delegate lead, 99 to 94 — or once superdelegate endorsements are factored in, 109 to 106.

CNN's estimate is based on a statistical review, which combined the county-level results provided by the state party with data from the U.S. Census, exit polls and telephone surveys.

That analysis showed that the counties that reported data to the state party last week appear to be a representative cross-section of the Texas population. The analysis also indicates that areas that were won by Obama reported results at essentially the same rate as areas that were won by Clinton.

Every procedure used to statistically model the outcome of the caucuses indicated that Obama had more support than Clinton.

2. It all depends what the meaning of BIG is...
Bill Clinton is calling the Texas win big. Doesn't matter that it wasn't big, he just parses words to fit his needs.

6. That was about three goalposts back.
Gotta keep your eyes on those suckers because the Clintons keep them in a constant state of flux desperately trying to frame and reframe stats that are becoming increasingly grim for her.

10. they don't seem to pick her up on this?
well Hillary you didn't win Texas and your win in Ohio wasn't THAT big!

So what happens in PA, she will probably win by 5-10% O'Bams will get a good bunch of delegates there.

13. Exactly..
So one has to wonder why they insist that she stay in and just plain hurt our chances in November.

21. Politics is personal, and those of us on DU are more personally involved...
than the average voter (assuming that your statement "why they insist that she stay in and just plain hurt our chances in November" means those HRC supporters on DU that is).

What we see happen in this microcosm is the exception, not the rule, but because we are in such a small space, it appears much bigger than it is.

Look at the polls run on DU about HRC vs BO. It's clear Obama wins the DU vote overwhelmingly time after time, but you wouldn't know it based on the vociferousness of a few HRC supporters here.

Its all just a matter of drowning out the voices.

And a belated welcome to DU, Alexxis; glad you're here. :hi:
