What did everyone think of Kerry's performance on Meet the Press?

I thought he kicked ass... was asked some very very tough questions and left nothing to be desired. I don't think he could have done any better if he gotten the questions in advance to say nothing of it being live.

I'd like to know what you are all basing it on (esp. the lower raters), get some conversation going.

I disagree with Kerry's position on Sharon. I think Bush gave Sharon the green light to kill that Hamas leader, and as long as Sharon's around there will never be peace.

he reeks of "politician", evasive, defensive, oblique, long winded. It would be ok if he could do it with the tenacity and boldness of Cheney. I perfered Dean but the "people" think he's crazy so maybe it's just me.

Since you say so. If every time someone who can't handle disagreement with John Kerry said this the people disagreeing actually did go "vote for bush," Bush would be getting an awful lot of democratic votes.

It is an ignorant, self-defeating response. In so many ways.

Thankfully, most voters aren't going to make their decision in the voting booth based on such ignorance. And those who do make the choice to vote for other than Kerry will have made them based on their own values and conscience; as every voter should.

I'll be voting for Kerry come November; but not because some short-sighted democrat tried to bully, scare, or shame me into thinking that my concerns and areas of disagreement constitute a vote for *.

I am ashamed when I see the efforts to squelch dissent, debate, or discussion from within my own party.

Muslim Americans can do math as well as the rest of us, and they know a vote for Nader=Bush. Kerry has a far greater chance of being fair-handed in the Middle East than Bush and they know that too. Some of the most regular attendees at the meetups down here have been Arab-Americans (several of whom it turns out aren't Muslim).

19. Jamie Rubin worked for Clinton, was on Clark's campaign and now with Kerry

he just recently joined kerry's campaign. he did a good job of speaking for wes clark when he was on his campaign. i remember he held a press conference and took questions on clark and foreign policy. not many showed up but it was on cspan and jamie rubin did great.

He answered the questions as any normal politician would, but he extrapolated on few. Compared to monkeyboy, he was exceptionally articulate and knowledgeable.

Russert treated him more harshly than he treated bush, and Kerry didn't flap.

Naturally, he didn't answer every question to everyones liking, but show me a pol that does. We have a winner here, and he will be light-years ahead of what we have now.

I'm fairly certain that most posters here don't know this, but wheresthemind was elected to the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party's Board of Directors for MN's 5th Congressional District this past Saturday! And all that even before his 18th Birthday, to boot!!!!!

He's been a real inspiration to many of us on the Kucinich campaign in MN, and I think DU folk should know this.

And to those Repubs who think that MN is a "swing state" this year........

I wish I could have done more for the campaign but I had my job, I know its no excuse, good for him. You know, one time I got mistaken for him, because he had an article about him on DK's website, and they congradulated me not him.

You're very good at getting our issues across, and not p***ing off opponents (unlike some posters, like myself). Don't sell yourself short.

Our Congressional District convention was very cool. I got to give the "candidate speach" for Dennis, and even got to co-chair our subcaucus when we elected our two national delegates. It was a truly moving experience when three of our four female delegate candidates dropped out in favor of our state campaign chair. It brought tears to our eyes, literally.

Also, in what may have been one of the first uses of Instant Runoff Voting for delegate selection in DFL history, we elected another DUer (goodhue) to be our male DK delegate to Boston. He's also a great guy and was one of the first people to organize our state, back in May of last year.

I decided to not run for delegate, as I'm unemployed and can't afford the $1500 it takes to go. However, we still have six more "at-large" delegates to select at the state convention in May, so I may toss my hat in the ring there.

We'll see what happens....

I only regret not doing more but my job got in the way. Congrads to goodhue. I was planning to go to the convention, but decided against it. We really were mistaken for each other as hard is that is believe, they had his picture in the newspaper article, and I dont look much like him, and it was hillarious because I was like umm thanks, because it clearly said his name in the article and I made it clear about me being a Virginian not a Minnesotan.

He looked tanned and fit (no shadow like there sometimes is), he gave good answers and he wasn't afraid to show his human side -- he admitted he was wrong back in the 1970s about some of the things he said about Vietnam. I think that shows he is human and also that he's more of a man than bush.
