Hillary violates unwritten but important rule: One Presidency Per HH |
|
As the primaries drag on, it's more and more clear to me that one of the big objections to Hillary Clinton is that she and Bill have already lived in the White House for 8 years.
Now, some people may be comforted by the return of the Big Dog to the White House. But as much as I'd love to see a woman as the President, it just can't be Hillary.
One presidency per HH is plenty, don'cha think?

Clinton has every right to run for and serve as president. She is not my choice but I will work for her election should she somehow, and now quite improbably, win the nomination. No such rule, written or unwritten. For example: Bush/Bush jr. Oh what? Not that household?

6. No husband and wife should trade the Presidency back and forth |
|
It's ridiculous on its face. Sorry. A married couple share most everything and it makes no real sense to me that they could take turns running the country for 16 years. It circumvents the spirit of the two term limit.
A son or daughter is different. Maybe it's one presidency per marriage, not per household, but i think my point is valid.

11. A son or daughter is different? How so? |
|
The Clintons are not 'trading the Presidency back and forth' as it is not theirs to trade. Instead Hillary Clinton is competing for our votes in order to earn the right to run. The most she is trading here is her association with her husband. How that differs from Bush-the-idiot trading on his association with Bush-the-less-stupid is not apparent to me. Perhaps you would like to elaborate. It certainly does not circumvent the 'spirit of the two term limit'. Hillary Clinton is her own person, just as Bill Clinton is his own person. Marriage does not create one person out of two.
I support Obama over Clinton, but certainly not because of this non-issue.

4. We've seen what a Bush the Second presidency was like |
|
This country is not a hereditary monarchy nor should it be. Hillary isn't "owed" this by any means nor should she receive it. Surely this country is capable of producing a president whose last name is neither Clinton or Bush.

America was founded free from Monarchical family rule. Now that we have these political oligarchies running everything, I think it's time America stood up to fight back.

10. The 22nd Amendment was mentioned on MSNBC the day Edwards dropped out |
|
by someone in his campaign doing a phone interview. I have not seen this issue brought forth on the MSM since then. It is an issue that should get debated.
