Is there a reason Kerry is out slugging away at shrub and no one cares? |
|
Today Kerry is all over the place slamming bush on his sweetheart deals with the Saudis, this gas price scandal, the condition of Iraq, and other fronts and DU seems to be ignoring it as much as FOX news? Is there a reason for this, I'm curious. Here are some snips of Kerry on the campaign trail today. 1. Because Kerry is boring to listen too. |
|
His rally speeches are as exciting to listen to as listening to crickets chirping endlessly.
Anyway, his criticism of Bush is long OVERDUE.

7. July2002 MTP:Dean responds to clips of Kerry criticizing Bush's strategy |
|
"It is easy to second-guess the commander-in-chief at a time of war. I choose not to do that."
Then, of course, Conason noticed in his August 2002 Observer piece that Kerry was the only candidate at the time who showed the courage to directly confront Bush on foreign policy and military strategy. Surprise, Dean joined Kerry shortly after.
Surely you haven't forgotten that by now, Larkspur?
Kerry's SUBSTANTIVE critiques were buried for so long by the press, in favor of covering Dean's hotter, more rhetoric-less real damage to Bush style.

8. Have you been to a rally speech? |
|
I guarentee you no one was sleeping at the ones I saw.
Cheering. screaming. weeping at the vision parts.
PS Kerry has been criticisizing bush for a while now.

3. I'm glad he's going on offense about these things, too... |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 03:03 PM by GainesT1958
But I guess he's got two tough hurdles to jump over in all this:
1) It's still considered "early" in the General Election campaign..actually, WAY early..by the public and media, and...
2) Ahh, the media. Even if it weren't considered early by them, the media whore factor still would rear its ugly head against Kerry.
And yet, despite both of these handicaps at this stage, Kerry still has a small lead in many polls. Proving he's not only got a shot to win, but it's a pretty GOOD shot!:D

I watched part of a speech today where Kerry went after vote fraud. He pledged to launch an investigation into any questionable voting issues.
He's keeping all the questions that occurred in the 2000 election on the front burner. Reminding the Dems how they got screwed in 2000 will energize us for sure.

|
Why isn't the entire Dem. leadership out in full force covering all of the media outlets?! This is prime time, baby. There are so many balls tee-d up just waiting to be knocked over the fences right now. A little help here from your team captains. I just don't understand the DNC strategy.

It used to be "Why doesn't Kerry......?"
Now that Kerry's doing it, it's "Why doesn't Clinton, Daschle, et al.....?"

But it is always good to see it again!

17. I see Kerry on the News virtually everyday |
|
And the stations are consistantly reporting Kerry's responses to the events of the day, particularly about his ideas on how Bush is handling things. Everyday things goe from bad to worse in Iraq, and the economy is still doing as bad as it was before, particularly jobwise, as new applications for unemplyment comensation is going up again, and there are a great many people out there who have dropped off the rolls who are not being counted in the unemployment figures who may not be counted, but still actually vote.
It is very very good for the media to be paying attention to Bush's flawed presidency, and for Kerry to be waiting in the wings, having all his predictions about Iraq and the economy come true, this fact just waiting to be pointed out in the six weeks before the election.
Kerry still reamins ahead Bush with and without Nader in national polls, further ahead than Gore was. The three weeks worth of polls: Bush Kerry Nader
Zogby (4/15-4/17) 44.7% 45.3% 3% Kerry +0.6 Rasmussen (4/15-4/18) 45% 46% - Kerry +1 Newsweek (4/8-4/9) 42% 46% 4% Kerry +4 ARG (4/6-4/9) 43% 48% 2% Kerry +5
Things are not looking up for Bush ,and after the Spanish Troops pull out, things will be worse. None of the other nations in the "coalition of the willing" are stating that they will pull out, but it is very likely that others will over the summer.
Kerry is doing just fine for an incumbent. Very well in fact.

|
But then once more it maybe that people like what Bush is saying. We can not forget this. A lot of people like the war and think we should kill every one that do not go with us. I have no reason to hope they will not stay that way. Heck they are still fighting other wars we were in.

stayed til the bitter end. The money that is being raised now could not possibly pay for all the free publicity we could have had - for months.
The Democratic Party would have profited from all the free publicity and, John Kerry would have been able to use all that coverage to get his message out.
