Hillary won't win in November. She has alienated progressives... |
|
THE base of democratic election campaigns....
The ones who voluteer to call, to knock on doors, to host fund raising donation parties...
The boots on the ground. The most active members of the democratic party.
I was with her a week ago, I am not with her anymore. I fought hard to defend her.
My breaking point was the Karl Rove interview on Faux News. It was nauseating to see any person within the democratic party degrade themselves by sitting down with this criminal, this ENEMY. And, it frightened me. If she would ally with him for her own election chances, instead of decrying what he has done and demanding investigations and justice, she has lost all credibility with those she claims to represent.
And, it deeply saddens me. A woman in the White House could have been such a sign of hope and possibility and moving forward.
Her campaign will be a black mark on all women who seek to run for POTUS, in the future.

Those latte drinking activists don't want a president anyway, so why would they bother leaving their college campuses to campaign? :sarcasm: I see what you mean, triangulation INSIDE the party has only hurt us.

13. The Clintons didn't leave the African-American people. |
|
Sadly, they left them. They allowed the media to take out of context quotes that were not racist. The media fanned the flames and the Obama camp ran with it. Considering their decades of advocacy fighting for civil rights, women's rights and human rights, both Clintons at the very least deserved the benefit of the doubt. Instead, they were swiftly disposed of so that they could conveniently support a guy who has wafer thin experience, but who has the most important factor: the right complexion.
Et tu, Brutus?

a serene attitude of confidence and, of course, a healthy dose of fantasy. If nominated she'll crash and burn and you guys can feign ignorance and disbelief. Might as well start practicing now. The rest of us with go forward with fact and fair judgment of the disaster that the Clintons and their neo-con buddies have brought to this country and continue to work for real change.

McCain has many years of experience and is more than qualified to be CIC. We may not vote for the guy nor agree with his politics, but we can't deny what is self evident.
Hillary, not as experienced as McCain in that area, definitely is more qualified than Obama who has no foreign relations experience whatsoever.
I don't see this as a betrayal, but as a valid political point.

84. The Clinton campaign engaged in blatant race-baiting. |
|
It was admitted to the Associated Press' chief political correspondent, by an unnamed Clinton campaign staffer, that part of the Clinton campaign's strategy was to attempt to marginalise Obama as 'the black candidate'. See: Bill's 'well, Jesse Jackson won in South Carolina, too' comments (no-one mentioned Jesse Jackson; and John Edwards won South Carolina, more recently, and lost the nomination...so why not John Edwards?)
To thinhk that black people are blind to the employment of these tactics, or that it WON'T turn them off from the Clinton campaign, is just stupid; and it's amazingly smug and condescending to suggest that African-Americans are supporting Obama because he has 'the right complexion' I suppose that explains why Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson got such overwhelming black support in their primary runs, right? Oh, wait...they didn't.
It's pretty clear that you'll continue to believe what you want on this issue, though.

Gee, I've Been a Democrat For a Long Time & Had No Idea Some Voters Were More Important Than Others!
As far as I know, it's still one vote from each person, regardless of position, wealth, power, race, color or creed.
And I've been an activist and never felt that the work I did entitled me to a more important vote than anyone else!

The left wing media (Air America, Olberman) will take down the party |
|
Obamas supporters should be trying to sell Obama to Hillary supporters, instead they just abuse them.
They are driving people away from the party. The endless Limbaugh style character assasination of the left wing media towards Hillary and her supporters is doing more damage to the Democratic party than any stupid statement Hillary has ever said. They have adopted a policy of not beating her, but destroying her, which is straight from the GOP playbook.
Obama is not articulating anything positive, never cites any policy, and does nothing but talk about Hillary. The result is a body of 'support' that shows it through attacks on his rival. This has driven 70% of Hillary supporters into stating they will never vote for Obama, or about 1/3 of the democratic party. This bodes very badly for Obama if he wins the nomination, and it is his own fault.

|
That's why Bill won twice, the first Democrat to do so since FDR. Keep veering to the left and see who's going to end up in the WH in November. Unfortunately for us, McCain is viewed by a large segment of the population as a moderate. Remember how much vile he got from his own party's conservatives? A bunch who seem as dogmatic and closed minded as the left in our party.

I do feel similarly. Right now, McCain has to win the conservatives (those who still hate him, and the 30% who voted for Huck), and the independents (which Obama has done magnificently). Clinton has support in the Democratic base, but not much love in the independent world. Additionally, Republicans love to hate the Clintons and I'm sure would be thrilled to vote against them. McCain can't win the independents if Obama is in the race, but it will be much easier for him against Clinton.

And Obama has done SO much with the whole "Unity" bullshit.
Yeah keep banging that drum.
BOTH candidates have driven a wedge in this party. I'll be damned if he gets the nomination that I'll send one fucking penny to support his ass.
Oh I'll vote for him. But I'm in California and he'll win my state, thank God.
It would take a hell of a lot for me to pull up my jock strap and get out and support him.
NOW ... if he can get Diana Ross to sit down with Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong and get a REAL Supreme reunion .... then we'll talk.
OH and tell Miss Donnie the "ex gay" to go fuck himself would help too.
Flame away!
