Save your soul...vote for Nader
My oh my how things have changed. A year ago, the "voice" coming from the Left was stronger anti-war. My assumed, and hoped, that a year later we would galvanize around that anti-war message all the way to victory in November.

But it wasn't to be. Today, the anti-war message has been diminished to two candidates who have no chance of winning, and zero voice..that would be Nader and Kucinich. By soooo wanting Bush to lose, us Democrats have sold our soul by trading our pro-peace platform for a guy who we thought has the best chance to defeat Bush...John Kerry.

The irony is that we have lost our focus, and the polls are beginning to reflect that reality.

When our we going to trust our best instincts and promote a candidate that we can believe in? Kerry has said he plans to follow Bush's basic war plan...bring in the UN? Big deal! That's just political-speak, and face it, Kerry is Bush-lite.

I'm voting for Nader this Fall so I can sleep at night.

1. Hope you can sleep at night
knowing that you will soon lose many of your civil rights, with Bush in power for another four years.

3. If not for Nader in 2000
There wouldn't be a war in Iraq for him to oppose in 2004. Physician heal thy self.

4. Oh, BS.
Gore was riding the best economy in history, and peace to boot. There is NO EXCUSE, other then Gore's campaign itself, why he lost. Blaming Nader is so lame and tired.

9. And what's equally lame and tired
Is self righteous Naderites defending Ralph's weakening of the left to the benefit of the right.

Bush says: Vote Nader

10. Nader's run was sufficient for a Gore loss.
Sure there were other factors, but no Nader in the race in 2000 meant no Bush in the White House for four years.

13. Excuse me, as a black man, are you ANGRY about:
the over 40,000 black people removed from the voter registration for election 2000 in Florida? THAT's why we didn't take Florida. Apparently, Gore's campaign was effective enough.

19. Well, we can't control John Kerry's campaign...
But we suspect that he will do a better job than Gore knowing how high the stakes are. We can call Nader an ass for running.

5. selfish
How amazing selfish. Screw over every one of the hundreds of millions of people who will be hurt by another 4 years of Shrub just so you'll feel better. How amazingly childish as well. Nadar voters are like toddlers who get every cookie in the box but one or two and scream because they can't get every single solitary cookie in the box.

Grow up and grow a conscience. The world does not revolve around you and your feelings, time to realize it.

6. oh sure
I'm the selfish one for sticking up for principle rather then supporting a guy who sounds pretty much like Bush when it comes to Iraq. How about you be the one to grow up and show some fortitude and confidence in the Democratic ideal of peace. I'm aint gonna sell myself out just so the guy in charge has a D next to his name. Face it, Democrats, we made a terrible error in judgement by making Kerry our leader. I'm sick and tired of the politics as usual mindset. "Slightly better" ain't good enough.

8. War is a first resort for Bush.
It is a last resort for Kerry. Don't believe the unjustified "they're the same" crap the Greens spewed about Gore in 2000 and are spewing about one of the most liberal members of the Senate today.

18. you're head's in the sand
Sorry to say it, because I want Bush out too, but Kerry is NOT going to pull troops out of Iraq anytime soon. It's amazing to me how many people call themselves "anti-war", or "peaceniks", but when it comes down to it, power is more important to them. Kerry is the consumate Washington Insider who takes special interest money, plays the game, talks out of both sides of his mouth, and supports the war. You might want to think he's somehow better then Bush, but I don't see a damn difference between the two when it comes to American Foreign policy... they're both going to kick other countries around..ya'll know it to be true.

There's still plenty of time to jump on the Nader bandwagon. Fer' cryn' out loud... if grass-roots support for a peace-candidate can't be found on this forum, then this country is lost.

23. We have a choice.
We can encourage Ashcroft, Norton, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, et cetera with another four years and let Bush appoint 3 or 4 Scalias to the SC.

Or we can elect the most liberal candidate ever to run for the U.S. Presidency from the Democratic Party. Kerry is pro-choice, pro-gun control, opposed to capital punishment, has voted against fraud in the pentagon, and on and on.

In addition, Kerry wants to internationalize the reconstruction effort, so I don't get what the problem is. If it weren't for the loony Greens, we wouldn't even *be* in Iraq right now.

29. would never happen
"3 or 4 Scalias" will never happen. Those are just scare tactics to make people think, "oh...I'd better vote for this Bush-lite guy because Row V. Wade will be overturned"..bs Bush would never, ever, get a far-Right Winger through Congress.

"internationalize the reconstruction effort" is more political double-speak.. he's trying to sound just a little bit more rational then Bush, but you're blow'n smoke if you think it amounts to anything different.

14. Save the country-- vote for Kerry.
A little over a year ago we weren't in a war, so the anti-war message meant something. Not that they were listening, but there was still some resonance around the country.

But, the assholes gave us a war anyway, so what do we do now? Just pack up and walk off letting Iraq descend into civil war and anarchy?

All of the money and blood spent so far goes to waste?

Knock yourself out and vote for Nadir if it makes you feel good. Won't do a damn thing for the rest of us, but you'll feel good.

I guess that's worth something to somebody.
