One down, One to go
Michigan, campaigns talk do-over primary

LANSING, Mich. - Michigan Democrats are close to an agreement with presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama to hold a do-over primary.

Party officials and the campaigns negotiated on Thursday, and state Democratic leaders were hopeful that an agreement could be reached on Friday, said Democratic officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks. To go forward, any plan would require the approval of the two campaigns, the Democratic National Committee, state party leaders and Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who is backing Clinton.

So, the only real question here is what will Clinton's margin of victory be? Going to be an uphill battle for Obama to woo voters that he actively sough to disenfranchise. Same for Florida if they get their act together with the mail-in.

1. Granholm is no endorsement nowadays. Almost worse than Kwami.
Obama will win here so Hillbots are in for a surprise.

6. This fellow Michigander agrees with you.
If they think that Michigan is just like Ohio, they're in for a surprise.

According to the exit polls, Obama very nearly would have won back in Jan. (before his string of victories). Now that he is the established front-runner in the race, I see him taking MI

10. I think the state's demographics favor Hillary
Older populations, since it's not a southern state, not many AA's, the establishment politicos in her corner with Governor, and Dingel etc. Do you know how the unions are aligned?

13. You might think that...
But you've got two Michiganders here telling you that just because our population is "blue collar" and several of our politicians have endorsed her, does NOT necessarily mean that we'll vote for her.

We're very different from Ohio.

22. MI
Of course he'll take MI. No AAs? LOL! Ever hear of Detroit? And how about the massive exportation of jobs from that state? And all the obnoxious tactics Hillary has indulged in since OH? He'll cream her there.

15. Florida can not hold a mail in, its against the law.
It is a caucus or nothing. I support a revote. I actually wish it could be primary, but they can not have another primary as they already have an uncertified primary and it is a no double indemnity situation.

The state party can will hold a mail-in vote, it is not against the law the way they are structuring it.

3. Please, really. Can you post ANYTHING without taking a swipe at Obama?
And really, neither one of them "disenfranchised" MI or FL.

That was the DNC.

And if they hadn't moved it up, it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

23. You're perception is wrong.
He's against mail-in, and can you blame him? How many votes went missing in FL? It also doesn't adequately cover transient residents. A mail-in will disenfranchise voters, that's what he is against.

19. Here's the difference between a GOOD POST done by a Hillary supporter and your bullshit.. watch..
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5066435

You see the difference? OP #1 posted an article without lies or flamebait or baseless hyperbolic accusations (i.e., Obama tried to disenfranchise michigan voters) Lots of people responded to this from both camps, sanely.

OP #2, YOU, posted same article along with flamebait bullshit and attracted lots of your ilk to the thread, who also posted more flamebait bullshit.

There are really only a handful of you here, and you make this entire forum miserable for people who want to discuss these issues.

The vitriol spewed by the O-Bots over the last few months drowns out any of the blowback given in return by Hillary supporters. Go peddle your lies somewhere else, little boy.

27. Dearborn has the largest Muslim community in America. I am just guessing
that they would love to show muslim bashers how mobilized their vote can be. Gee I wonder how they could do that.

Michigan re-vote if I had the money I would pay for it myself.
