Obama's Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11
..snip..

"In a campaign appearance earlier this month, Sen. Obama said, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." He said Rev. Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with," telling a Jewish group that everyone has someone like that in their family.

Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."

An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wright's sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans. "

Olbermann is doing an expose on McCain's spiritual adviser. Will he do one on Obama's too?

After all he thinks he's Edward R Morrow.

16. He's not his spiritual advisor, how about you stop with your disinformation?
A spiritual adviser is generally considered something much different from a pastor, even though a pastor gives spiritual advice. Spiritual adviser usually describes an adviser on religious matters in an official sense or in a government position.

Funny, I have never heard a single word about this story anywhere but here.

Do you seriously think the people of America are incapable of distinguishing between Obama's opinions and those of his pastor? You might as well say Carter was done-in by his brother Billy.

You Hillbots (and this is the first time I have used that term, but you are earning it) have really gone stark raving loony. You spew bigotry of every kind in al directions, you write-off anyone who dares to criticise your candidate, you close your mind to anything resembling reality. No wonder you have been so anxious to use the "cult" label; that is exactly what you have become.

That must have been some damn fine Kool-aid.

27. As the daughter of a radically left-wing minister, i am sad to see this
being used to damage Obama. People go to a specific church for a lot of different reasons and, although the minister is generally the congregational leader, he or she does not speak for the congregation or it's members.

My father gives very fiery sermons, generally taking a stance far outside of what most people would say, in order to stimulate thought, discussion and reflection.

That being said, I do think there are many who will use this to hurt Obama and I am sad that that will happen.

I also felt that the Ferraro incident was blown way out of proportion in order to harm Clinton. These kind of personal attacks just don't fly with me.

This is a repeat post from another thread, but I just wanted to say it again. i won't post it again.

I know it sounds like a completely unpatriotic thing to say, but let's be honest with ourselves.

Our government and their ridiculous actions bear some blame for 911. We had no business meddling with the countries in the middle east.

Now, before anyone tries to put words in my mouth, by no means am I saying that we "deserved" to be attacked. The american people/civilians weren't to blame.

People can denounce it all they want, but from what I read it sounds like he was just saying what most of the rest of the world is thinking. Like it or not US foreign policy has pissed off many people around the world, and outside of this country not everyone is pumping their fists in the air and shouting "USA! USA! USA!". The Pentagon has killed millions of people in recent decades, that is a fact and how ever much people want to denounce those who point out that fact it doesn't clean the blood off the hands of our government.

the one thing we know for sure is that the official story is a lie. and it is a lie that neither democrat nor republican (with rare exception and at great cost) is challenging. The preponderence of unanswered questions strongly points to an inside job.

77. GOOD NEWS about Reverend Wright:
If the McCain campaign attacks Obama for his association with Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, this should at least dispell the notion some people have that Obama is a Muslim.

The BAD NEWS:
Reverend Wright has repeatedly said "God damn America" -- and regardless of the context or Obama's rejection of such statements, this could be a deal breaker for some of the swing voters in crucial states.

Personally, I don't think Obama's association with Wright makes Obama an America-hater, a traitor, or disqualifies him in the least. Unfortunately, not everyone will see it that way.
