CLINTON is the Corporate Democrat? THE FACT SAY OTHERWISE!
Let's compare the corporate interest group ratings of Hillary and Barack Obama over the past couple years, shall we? Why don't we use the two main corporate, anti-government-regulation interest groups that both Hillary and Obama have received ratings from?:

Club For Growth Ratings:

"Club for Growth Policy Goals:

* Making the Bush tax cuts permanent
* Death tax repeal
* Cutting and limiting government spending
* Social Security reform with personal retirement accounts
* Expanding free trade
* Legal reform to end abusive lawsuits
* Replacing the current tax code
* School choice
* Regulatory reform and deregulation"

Club For Growth Ratings for 2007: Hillary 11% Obama 33% http://votesmart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?r_id=3856

Club For Growth Ratings for 2006: Hillary 8% Obama 7% http://votesmart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?r_id=3760

Americans For Prosperity Ratings:
"Americans for Prosperity educates citizens about economic policy and mobilizes citizens to achieve fiscal and REGULATORY RESTRAINT by state governments and a return of the federal government to its Constitutional limits."

Americans For Prosperity Ratings for 2007: Hillary 8% Obama 9%
http://votesmart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?r_id=3886

Americans For Prosperity Ratings for 2006: Hillary 0% Obama 42.9%

http://votesmart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?r_id=2159

Hmm, the numbers clearly indicate that Obama has gotten more approval from the corporate interest groups than Hillary did. Even in the one case that Obama DID get lower approval, it was only by 1 percentage point.

What that you were saying about Hillary being a corporatist?

2. Which one sides with the secrecy and privilege of BushInc and its fascist agenda?
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 07:51 PM by blm
Clintons already PROVED their willingness to protect BushInc and the powerful elites.

You can pretend all you want that Obama is the scary one here, but guess what? Some of us PAID ATTENTION. We didn't just start noticing what was going on in the world on 9-11.

http://consortiumnews.com/2006/111106.html

Why some of you WANT the Bushes protected into the next decade, too, is a mystery.

5. You are the only person here obssessed with that
Everyone else realizes no president is going to investigate the previous or a past president. Neither will Obama.

10. What an ignorant statement. Presidents aren't ASKED to investigate. They are
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:02 PM by blm
supposed to cooperate with the investigations that are GOING ON.

You really prove repeatedly how little you understand these matters.

No one said Clinton should have INVESTIGATED Poppy Bush. He didn't HAVE to. Poppy Bush and his operatives were already mostly investigated and at their most exposed and weakest point when Clinton took office BECAUSE of the honest Dems who risked their lives and careers to investigate the corruption.

Bill came along and DID he COOPERATE with the investigations and finally allow ACCESS to documents that had previously been withheld? Did he direct the Justice Dept to seek accountability on these matters already investigated?

Bush2 can cause an investigation into a bogus report about Ws missing from a keyboard, but Bill didn't think it was a good idea to use his power to establish an accurate historic record on matters of such great import to this nation and its national security and economic security as contained in the BCCI report?

And BTW, there are a number of folks here who share my concerns, and you will find them on the corruption threads. But Clinton supporters stay away from those threads, in fact, they've been staying away from those threads by the droves.....for a few years now.

21. That is no small thing, and shows he UNDERSTANDS the presidency needs oversight, too.
I just don't know how much more clear it can be made for people. There should never have BEEN a Bush2 possible or a 9-11 event commencing a war on terror or this Iraq war.

Closed government and the protection of secrecy and privilege of closed government led DIRECTLY to all three curses.

9. Garbage Rebuttal
If you think that what Hillary did MANY years ago in the PRIVATE sector is a better predictor of her future behavior than what she's done in the past FEW years as a SENATOR, then I have a deed to some oceanfront property in NEBRASKA that I'd like to sell you.

23. What did her husband do with the BCCI report and all its outstanding matters?
Because now HILLARY is STUCK continuing the coverups for BushInc just as Bill did throughout the 90s.

Gee - how did Clinton siding with secrecy and privilege end up working out for this nation, for our party, and for the world?

20. They're both Corporatists -- But Obama is not as entangled
The Clintons have been enmeshed in the Corporate Matrix for so long that there is no way she can estricate herself from that mindset and those obligations.

Obama is too corporate for my tastes, but he at least is more accountable to the average people at this point, and would be more open to alternatives to that.

We're not nominating someone for patron saint of the left.

But it's pretty obvious when one candidate is DLC and the other is not, where the loyalties lie.
