Did they reduce the number of delegates required to win the nomination ???
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:23 PM by HopeforChange
When Florida and Michigan were not seated did they reduce the number of delegates required to win the nomination by the number of delegates from those two States?

If not and these delegates are subtracted for the time being isn't OBama alot closer to winning the nomination?

2. Let's hope not.
We have to first hear why O has so firmly attached himself to a bigoted preacher.

3. They did reduce it
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:27 PM by grantcart
The current number to confirm the nomination is 2024.5 with Florida and Michigan 2208.

On Monday Gov. Spitzer will lose his status as a superdelegate, and the magic number will be reduced to 2024.

His successor is already a superdelegate so becoming a govenor will reduce the total number of delegates.

According to DCW Obama's magic number without Florida and Michigan is 427 and Clintons is 532

4. I believe they did...
...the amount required to win the nomination would be over 2,200 if FL and MI were in the count.

6. Yes - 2024 is the number req'd excluding FL & MI
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:29 PM by housewolf
If FL & MI are included, the total number req'd will increase and so will the number req'd to win a majority.

The total number of delegates including FL & MI is 4414 and the number of delegates required to win the nomination is 2207.5 (more realistically, 2208).
