For those of you that don't think Rev Wright has a role in the Obama campaign, think again -
From Obama's own website:

Dec. 4, 2007

Renowned Faith Leaders Come Together to Support Obama

Unprecedented group of nation’s top Black religious leaders unveiled

CHARLESTON, S.C. –U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign today unveiled its African American Religious Leadership Committee at both the national and statewide levels. Together, they represent two groups of key national and South Carolina religious leaders who are supporting Obama’s bid for the Democratic nomination.

Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.*
Senior Pastor
Trinity United Church of Christ
Chicago, IL
Senator Barack Obama's Pastor
http://www.gwu.edu/~action/2008/obama/obama120407pr.html

and then there's this -

Wright's committee

Jeremiah Wright, in the news today because video of a sermon (parts of which had been reported, and disavowed, before) adds some heat to the discussion of his relationship with Obama, has generally been described as connected to Obama only informally — a religious figure with whom Obama has said he disagrees at times, a kind of cranky uncle.

But he also has a formal role on the campaign.

Wright is a member of Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee — the sort of largely honorary, advisory body that in recent days has recently been used mostly to throw people off who say controversial things.

The Obama campaign couldn't immediately say whether he'd remain on the committee.

4. It's interesting how the Obama just yesterday said that they should distance themselves from
outspoken supporters that don't represent their campaigns . . .

14. I always said he was too religious
and now it will bite him in the ass. Too bad. A Dem SHOULD NOT take the religious road like a GOPer. Just doesn't work.

Embracing the Faithful

By Laurie Goodstein

With a Pentecostal minister at the helm, the committee planning the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August is determined to demonstrate that the party has overcome its squeamishness about religion, and that its big tent will accommodate religious believers.

For the first time, the Democratic convention will be kicked off by an interfaith prayer service, on Aug. 24 (although still to be decided is who will lead the prayers and where they will be held). And in another first, there will be a caucus during the convention explicitly for “people of faith,” to meet at the same time as the caucuses for African-Americans, Asians, Hispanics and other groups. (Delegates who are, for example, black AND religious will have to make a choice.)

Some Democratic leaders resolved to reach out to religious voters after the 2004 election, when polls showed Republicans had a lock on “values voters” — mostly evangelical Christians. Leading these efforts is the Rev. Leah D. Daughtry, chief executive of the convention. Ms. Daughtry (daughter of Herbert Daughtry, a minister in Brooklyn) flies from Denver to Washington every other weekend to lead her small Pentecostal congregation.

Ms. Daughtry announced in a conference call with members of the religious news media on Wednesday that convention committees had been seeded with religious leaders like the Rev. Tony Campolo, an evangelical author; Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago; and Bishop Vashti McKenzie, the first woman to be a bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

“These people were always there,” Ms. Daughtry said. “For us as people of faith, we chose to be more vocal inside the party.”

What do you think about Hillary's prayer fellowship.

Why everyone is trying to make this race about religion is beyond me!

18. HUGE MISTAKE!
The difference (used to be) between the nuts on the right and Dems is that we understood the seperation of church and state and focused on all people. Pandering to the nut jobs is a huge mistake, mark my words.

3. Hey did you know that
Al Sharpton is a good friend of the Clintons and the Clintons have done much work with him? Did you know that the Clintons have "preached" some of the same type of messages from the pulpits of black churches all across America? Did you know that the Clintons have visited and spoken at more black churches than Obama ever has?

Hey, looky here -----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVaEuE90ifg

Now, let's take a look at Hillary's pastor. Let's take a look at Hillary's TAX RETURNS, FIRST LADY PAPERS, BUSINESS CONNECTIONS, you know, something that really has something to do with this ELECTION.
