Right now I'm wearing a T-shirt (albeit one with an "unacceptable" lack of tightness and premium cotton), drinking a microbrew (Flying Fish ESB Ale), and have a Netflix movie in my computer's DVD player (a silent film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, no less).

To be completely accurate, this should be called "Stuff Upper-Middle-Class White People Like". In the Philly area, the list is dead-on in places like Manayunk or Media ("America's First Fair Trade Town"), but not so much in places like Kensington or Aston.

Living in contact with almost 100% Thais for a number of years I was walking in downtown Bangkok and caught my reflection in the mirror of the building - "shit who is that big fat ugly white guy". My mind froze as I took it in. I had to ponder the absurdity of all of this the rest of the day drinking beer.
