Is Hillary capable of admitting mistakes?
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 11:22 PM by Jennifer C
Well from what I've seen, I'd say she surely doesn't seem to possess this capability (mainly IWR vote), and neither do many people in her campaign.

But I guess it's possible I've missed something.

Has there been any instances where Hillary has publically acknowledged the times when she's been wrong/shown bad judgement?

12. Actually to quote her
"I certainly do repudiate it and I regret deeply that it was said."

That's as close to an apology as you'll see from her.
She's probably sorry , as far as I know.

7. That seems to be a Baby Boomer thing, imo.
No, it doesn't apply to ALL Boomers, but it's a fairly common trait in that generation. It's one of the reasons I never felt myself to be a Boomer even though I get lumped in with them. I can admit a mistake without hesitation and without any loss of self-esteem.

Take just a few examples: Bush, Clinton (either one), and Spitzer. Spitzer, who like me is better considered a "Generation Jones", readily admitted his mistake. I'm hard pressed to remember Bush or either Clinton readily admitting a mistake. Occasionally, they are forced into it. But I can't recall a recent Boomer politician who just upped and said, "Yeah, I made a mistake. It's totally my own fault." unless they were forced legally or by circumstance to do so.

Just a personal observation. Don't take it as fact. After all, I may be mistaken. :)

13. I think that there's a different dynamic at work...
...with the Obama people. And I think that you're very close to the right answer. They do seem to want it now...and they're not too timid about it, either. It's been interesting to watch.
