Has Barack Apologized For The Race-Baiting From His Former Pastor?
In the following video clip you'll hear the former pastor from Barack's Church saying "(I know why so many people hate Obama--because he's black)."

Sounds like race baiting to me. Yet to the best of my knowledge, Barack Obama hasn't offered ANYTHING that even RESEMBLES and apology. Despite that, Obama zealots including Keith Olberman HYPOCRITICALLY BERATE Hillary for not expressing ENOUGH regret at Geraldine Ferrara, despite the fact that I don't believe that Obama has offered ANY disapproval for his former Pastor claiming that people who hate Barack Obama are automatically RACIST.

The Obama camp shouldn't be throwing stones from their glass houses.

48. Why Do I Hate Obama?
Poor voting attendance in Congress, a love of Reagan, HUGE support for anti-regulation business groups, dishonesty about his ties to lobbyists, support for racially divisive people, Rush-Limbaugh like pretentiousness in his speaking styles, his cowardice when Hillary challenged him to more debates, Obama getting only a 20% rating from the Humane Society...

But go ahead and keep slandering me by calling me a racist.

He doesn't LOVE reagan, he only pointed out the genius in his campaigning style in order to get indies & dems to cross over.

Also, he's already stated that he didn't support that view of his pastor. And in case you missed it... He stood in front of one of the most prominent black churches in the US and condemned such behavior (including the anti-gay behavior).

As for the debates, please don't make me laugh. Has Hillary agreed to his NC debate yet?

Good Morning America? 60 minutes, meet the press, any program? Ferraro was everywhere spewing her crap.

People had to go and scrounge for these snippets, PAY FOR THEM at the Church site to glean through them to find what they consider to be the most inflammatory statements.

People like you are doing the Fundies work for them, you remember, the people who are against equal rights for Gays, you know, the racists, sexist Neocons? I am sure they are grateful.

If you can't see the difference between having your husband cheat on you and attending a hateful church where the pastor preaches that the government invented AIDS to kill black people and America is to blame for 9/11, then there isn't much I can say. What I do know is that John McCain and the moderates Obama will need to win see the difference and this will be featured in every RNC ad in every swing state. This guy is killing Obama.

1) Okay, I'll play along. My husband wasn't POTUS, and if he had cheated on me, it for damn sure wouldn't have cost US taxpayers 70+ million dollars. A marraige is a civil union wherein both parties bear responsibility for what happens within said union. She has yet to apologize for the nightmare that was the 1990's and part and parcel of their joint legacy.

Situational ethics are part and parcel of the Clinton's belief system, and as such they are famous for their parsing of "morality":

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

You, unlike the Clinton's, can't have it both ways.

Now, back to common sense based reality.

Barack Obama is not married to, nor related by blood to Wright. Barack Obama is a member of a BLACK U.C.C. church (Christian denomination of millions of members of all races) wherein Rev. Wright is installed as minister. Barack Obama does not, presumably write the Rev's. sermons, nor proof-read them, nor bear any PERSONAL responsibility for them. If it is as you say, we don't know that 1) BO was present during said sermon(s), or that 2) BO did not speak with Rev Wright about said alleged sermon(s).

I've seen it batted around that, and I quote you, "the pastor preaches". Really. Assuming he has made such utterances on more than one occasion, are you so egocentric to deny, or uneducated, or willfully ignorant to realize that the US Govt has committed a multitude of atrocities against Blacks and other minorities during the course of American history? For instance:

The Tuskegee Experiment — the 40-year study in which black men with syphilis were allowed to die untreated so that their cadavers could be used for research.

John Brown, a slave purchased in Georgia in the 1820s, whose owner, a doctor, blistered his legs and arms on a daily basis to see how deep his black skin went.

Dr. Marion Sims, a 19th-century gynecological pioneer, was only able to achieve his breakthroughs by performing horrific surgeries without anesthesia on his female slaves.

The forced sterilization of black women (what civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer plaintively called her “Mississippi appendectomy”) got its start during slavery, but has persisted in less overt forms in recent years.

A 1991 experiment that implanted the now-defunct birth control device Norplant into African American teenagers in Baltimore was applauded by some observers as a way to “reduce the underclass.”

A 1992 Columbia University study looking for a genetic link to violent behavior only recruited young black boys from poor neighborhoods in New York City. Researchers misled the parents, claiming their children were simply coming in for a series of tests and questions, when in fact they were given potentially risky doses of the same drug found in the Fen-Pfen weight loss pill.

Slavery. American genocide. These are not myths, these are realities.

You do not know how Rev. Wright thinks or feels. None of us on DU know his personal history. But regardless, Black and other people of colors historical experiences are culturally relevant to their belief system.

And what Obama thinks or feels about what his pastor has said, is between them, and none of our business.

Just like Hillary's experience with adultery should have remained between her and her husband. (you obviously missed that my post was and remains, rhetorical).

So ask Obama how he feels about this "issue" if you really, really want to know where he stands. But I just somehow don't think you really, really care at all.

Oh, and welcome to DU.

The government in our name, has lied us into wars, we now torture human beings...and you don't think these actions would piss off some people to do a 911 type attack? I am not condoning these actions. But hey. find a clue here.

Perhaps as there is some tendency for the words of Obama's associates, however distant, to be taken as his own, this could be the kind of all-inclusive blanket apology for all things known and unknown that some people seem to want...and we can all just feel better and get a good night's sleep.

If figured it was a Campaign talking point based on the number of posts.

The "kitchen sink" is the name given to the recent Clinton "jump the shark" attacks by the Clinton campaign itself. If you don't like the terminology, take it up with them.

The were ineffective and ultimately self-damaging. This ranks slightly below those in effectiveness.

I just found it bizarre that people were accepting the idea that racism ended, so people couldn't possibly hate Obama for being black.

Conversely it would be like somebody saying that "Hillary is hated by misogynists", therefore, all Hillary-Haters are to be labeled misogynists.

At least, that seems to be the OP argument.

The piece of logic that seems to be missing is that Obama/Hillary haters are, by definition, haters, and thus reacting to something outside of logic.
