Uh oh, I caught Hillary in a ....mistruth.
"We all had a choice as to whether or not to participate in what was going to be a primary, and most people took their names off the ballot, but I didn't"

NPR interview today.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=88165077

In August all the candidates signed a pledge to not "campaign or participate" in any state that violates the DNC rules.

So isn't she fudging the facts a lot by saying that Obama chose to not participate in Michigan by taking his name off the ballot, when she signed a pledge to not particpate as well.

8. I honestly don't know
How you can "not participate" in a primary, and then want the results to count.

It boggles the mind really.

21. FL law requires you drop out entirely. But you bring up the difference taken towards MI & FL
All of this makes sense thru the lense of Iowa.

The MI ballot move by Obama and others was pure suck up to Iowa.

After all look what happened post Iowa,

1st Obama has surrogates openly campaign for him and urge his supporters to vote undecided. They even ran radio ads.

2nd He seeks permission to run TV ads in FL as part of his national ad buy. He does so a week before the FL primary even though, no other candidate was running national ads, he still had a week left post FL to run a national campaign before Tsunami Tuesday.

Yet before the Iowa election, the pledge "required" as per his campaign interpretation his removal from even the ballot.

The lesson? The MI ballot removal was a political stunt that may have worked but to call it principled is laughable.

22. Yep. I also find all the gnashing of teeth and wailing pretty interesting, especailly
after I watched Debbie Dingle saying that Dean had told both states their delegates would be seated. Of course, that was before everyone realized that the numbers were going to matter.

It's been a screw-up of epic proportions from day one. I understand what Dean was trying to do, but it was very shortsided on his part, as well as on the part of those who withdrew in order to make bonus points with Iowa and try to make Hillary look bad for not removing her name.

It seems like an old Marx Brother's movie to me at times..
