As an Obama supporter : Can you guys please stop using the word : "Hillbot"
It is rude and unnecessary, and lowers the level of conversation.

Can't we simply respect each other.

That goes with "Obamaniac" or such too Hillary supporters.

2. Why don't we start making people donate 5 bucks to DU everytime they use a name like that?
Shame them.

Most of them aren't donators anyway, so this is a way to pick their pockets.

5. Agreed. We should treat everyone as a person. Derogatory names are not needed.
Personally I despise it when people called Republicans "repukes" or the like as well. It is also not helpful in any way.

Unfortunately, Obamaniac, Obamanation, Obamite, Obamababy, cultist, etc. etc. are still all too common.

14. I have noticed progressive radio hosts
calling people who like Clinton things like...Clintonistas...Clintonites, etc. Then they will refer to Obama supporters as...Obama supporters. I am not a supporter of a particular candidate, but I still find it offensive to call names like that. It is so petty and I have been ashamed of some of the hosts like Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Stephanie Miller, etc. I can not even listen to them any more. As for stopping the name calling on DU...Good luck with that.

the implication being that all Democrats are communists.

27. I 100% agree
I hate ALL the "cute" nicknames, even for opposition party candidates (ie McCain). It's unnecessarily divisive and more than a bit middle school.

Great post. K&R!!!

33. As a Hillary supporter, I wish DUers wouldn't use the words
Obamabot, Obamatron, Cult or cultists, and other deriding words when talking about Obama supporters.

And, I wish more Obama supporters would speak up if someone calls Hillery "Hitlery" and other terms comparing her to Nazis.
