Other then that John McCain didn't attend Hagees church for 20 years....

I was leaning Obama, but I don't know how he overcomes this.

Perception is reality, and guilt by association is alive and well in the minds of the electorate at large.

i was born hindu, doesn't mean i don't eat beef. point being, no matter what our religion is doesn't mean we listen to all its tenets.

4. The difference is
that Obama has a 20 year relationship with Wright. Wright conducted his wedding and baptized his children. Obama titled his book after a speech Wright gave. Obama has given tens of thousands to Wright's church.

Hagee is some famous con-man who endorsed McCain. He's not McCain's pastor. His church isn't in McCain's state. He's not even the same denomination as McCain.

6. For one think, McCain appears arm-in-arm with Hagee and welcomes his support
That's the giving and accepting of political support in this election.

Obama's pastor has preached his last sermon and makes no public statements of support for Obama.

Obama can't be held responsible for the opinions of everyone he knows. That's McCarthyism.

A candidate's religion seems to be an issue. Unless it is Obama.

9. Why are we acting like Wright said anything about America we
don't say ourselves in posts here every day? Either we believe in what we say, or we don't. If we do, then we should be presenting Obama's association with Wright as an asset, not as a liability. Let's not get sucked into giving respectability to the right's framing. Obama's staying in Wright's church for 20 years should be seen as a positive, not a negative.

who to vote for.

13. Hagee spews hateful filth as well.....but....
he wasn't mccain's mentor for 20 years, he didn't marry him, baptise his kids etc...McCain didn't attend his church for two decades...bottom line is that the association between McCain and Hagee is far weaker than that of Wright and Obama.
