Progressive? Then what's the big deal with Wright?
If you've lived and followed the Civil Rights movement,
walked hand in hand with the oppressed,
what Pastor Wright has said is 'right on.'

If you attended rallies and services where
preachers like WRight engaged the crowd,
why is this style unacceptable NOW?

And why thise arguments NOW?
Wright's conversial, prophetic preaching has been
'out there' for years.

Why NOW?

We know why.....

1. The Clintons Were Quite Happy To Receive The Support
of these churches until they switched to Obama. And you are right, their is a lot of truth to what he says.

2. Exactly. I imagine the only way to put this story down is to drag
up footage of Hillary and Bill in black churches that have controversial pastors. This is more about bashing the black community for disloyalty than going after Obama.

3. And there should be righteous rage!
Hillary is cutting off her nose to spite her face.

And the white community, latino community, multi-cultural community
should wash their hands of such despicable behavior.

This cannot be tolerated!

4. That's The First Thing I Thought Of
Doesn't seem to be a brilliant move by her campaign, again.

5. Angry black man.
It's not what he said, but the way he said it. Any black man, speaking forcibly = :scared:

If his preacher had been white, this "controversy" would not be nearly as powerful, I guarantee you.

7. Never seen a Black preacher in action?
They get passionate! pastor Wright is not just one...

Did you ever see or hear Martin Luther King?

Or, if lucky, you might hear Aretha FRanklin's father?

Righteous, passionate anger! That's prophetic preaching.

8. Nice stereotype!!!!

I guess your argument is - "It's not a stereotype if it's true"

I don't buy the "That's how THEM people are" appproach. Take a look at Jimmy Swaggert and then come back with your stereotyping of THEM black preachers.

9. They do have a point
I didn't take it as a stereotype. Sure Jimmy Swaggert was an emotional preacher but he didn't address many of the topics that addressed in many AA churches.

10. I never said that's how THEM are...
I had a black pastor mentor me in seminary,
I worked for 2 years in an AFrican American church.
I've worshipped in many AFrican American churches.

I'm not typing anyone.
Just too many folks haven't experienced the
difference when an AFrican American pastor
takes the pulpit and preaches prophetically.

You can't assume all pastors are alike.

And I don't buy Jimmy Swaggart argument.
Swaggart, and his brothers, are emotional preachers,
NOT prophetic preachers....
